Wow, hate Yao as a player. That is some strong word. I wonder what Yao did on the court besides injury to piss you off that much.
Not playing Tuesday is no surprise. But not practicing today is a surprise. don't know what's behind that.
Having Yao as a thread topic brings out the most idiotic of Clutchfans posters. Listen, Yao is a damn good player. If you consider him a stiff, you're just an idiot. We'd love to have him back ASAP but only when it helps. Remember that he went through a surgery that only Big Z has gone through, it's gonna take him this whole year to recover. If you can't see that, then again, you are simply an idiot. The team is on a roll as of late w/o Yao and AB, because of people like Lee, Lowry, Battier, Hill, and Miller consistently (more or less) stepping up. Why bring them back suddenly when we are finally on a roll, I mean they both messed up their ankles and could use to time to condition themselves. Why mess with the chemistry just to physically put those guys on the court? The please please idiotic posters? (This applies more to Yao, I feel like the team dynamic changes a lot more with him in than AB.) This isn't a T-Mac situation. Yao Ming is a proven hard worker and is willing to sacrifice for the betterment of his team. He has a minutes cap, and we have to "baby" him because his surgery was much more serious than a micro-fracture surgery. He's proven it time and time again. He'll be back soon enough. Let's just focus on winning without him, or AB for that matter.
If you have been paying any attention to the corpse that was once Tracy McGrady, you would know that Adelman and the Rockets were completely justified in limiting his minutes. He's done and, sadly, so is Yao.
I agree on T-Mac. But have you watched Yao play this year, or are you blind? His skills are far from gone.
With the way Houston fans turn against him, it's time for Yao and Rockets to part with each other. Let's face it, Rockets need to go other direction, and Yao will never get a ring in Rockets uniform. If I were Yao, I would sign with Miami, Orlando, or Lakers for veteran minimum after this season. A couple of rings may bring him more endorsement money than salaries, ... and he has boatloads of money already.
Yao and Kobe together would be a Chinese basketball fan's wet dream come true! <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/LjmgQjArEnQ?fs=1&hl=en_GB"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/LjmgQjArEnQ?fs=1&hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
Is anyone really surprised that he's not playing tomorrow? He hasn't practiced which means he's not ready. One day of practice wouldnt exactly prove that he's ready. I think its a good idea to hold him out. They may even decide to hold him out till mid December and lift the "24-minutes & back-to-back" restrictions. This way, it gives more time for the ankle bruise and new foot to heal and it'll give him some more practice time to get his conditioning close to where it needs to be.
Talking trash? LOL - I think Yao will screw up the chemistry they have been building, especially with his 24 minute limit. I would rather he not come back at all until he can go a full amount, or if he has a limit, bring him off the bench. DD
I appreciate what Yao has done for this franchise, but is anyone else tired of our team's future hanging on the health of Yao? When are we just going to say "that's enough" and move on without him? Yeah yeah, the Chinese market, only few dominant big men in the league, et al... Granted, since Yao's still on our roster, we'll have to play him if he's healthy and ready to go, but what do we do next year? Can he be an integral part of any team and not have his health be a constant distraction? Having Yao in and out of the lineup can't be good for the team's chemistry, and I've been down this road too many times to have any hope of him lasting through May. *flame suit on* How many season ending injuries have AB had?
Why do yo uworry? Since Rockets didn't give Yao an extension this summer, there is a legit chance that Yao won't be a Rocket after this season.
He might but his skill set and speed fit into what they are doing more than a lumbering 7'6" giant, trying to work his way into shape. DD
