Today 2K Sports announced the surprise addition of 45 all-new legendary basketball players exclusive to NBA 2K12’s “Legends Showcase” downloadable add-on content pack. Included in the batch are legendary NBA players such as Yao Ming, George Mikan, Bob Cousy, Kevin Johnson, and Bernard King to name a few. The players will be re-rated in order to play at the peak of their careers, and they will wear their team uniforms unique to that year. 2K Sports previously announced that Legends Showcase allows gamers to select from more than 160 of the NBA’s all-time greatest players, including Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson and Dr. J. By adding 45 more legends to the downloadable content add-on pack, there are now more than 330 total players, legend and current, available in NBA 2K12 Legends Showcase! Yea, been nice if Reggie and Charles were in it, but it's still an impressive list. But, LEGENDS and SHAWN BRADLEY does not compute.
Actually that game mode was already in previous NBA2k games for FREE. I was wondering why they took out all those modes. They're going to add a cell shaded background and charge us $9.99.
Where are Rudy T, Elvn Hayes and Ralph Sampson ? Also do you guys think it is harder for 2k to get rights to dead players (Brian Williams aka Bison Dele did not make it on 97 Bulls or 94 Nuggets and no Manute Bol which every sane person would choose over Mureshan or Bradley) ? Yao is in, Sleepy Floyd, KJ - pretty good list.
It's not simply a matter of 2K picking whoever they want. 2K Sports has to get permission from the Legends if they want to be part of the game because they aren't part of the NBA anymore. Maybe Barkley and Miller declined to do it for their own reasons.
I've always wondered why they don't have the early 90's Sun's jerseys. Those were nice. I can understand not having Barkley and Miller because they want too much money probably.
Nice that they added new legends, Ofcourse I'm not going to buy it. Why would I pay money for adding some players which I will not use anyway. Does anybody know why you cannot make a team consisting of legends? You can create a team, but only with current players. or am I missing something.
