Saw this interesting article this morning. From Wang Meng who is a designated sports reporter from Titan Sports to cover exclusively Yao Ming, and the Rockets.

Surely hope his waist injury is not serious.

Funny that Yao Ming seemed to be surfing basketball forums.....

And not sure whether the "Brokeback Mountain" poster he mentioned was the poster here on Clutchfansite ??

pryuen, I think 帖子 should be translated here as "post", not "poster," unless the word is referred to as something like a big decorative or pictorial billboard.

The Brokeback posts Yao was talking about are probably those containing the photoshopped pictures based on one of the Brokeback Mountain movie posters.

EDIT: Just saw YaozaMac's post, so I'll go ahead to post the picture: :D

    Doubtful.

In the original article, it merely says Yao often saw on the Internet some posts alluding to Rockets' Brokeback stuff. There is no explicit nor direct reference to the forums on this site. Most probably Yao might have read some Chinese BBS where posters talked about the posts/threads containing the photoshopped pictures they saw here.

It was not an efficient or first hand gathering of information on Yao's part :)

Haha... I wonder what Yao's reaction is to the thread about him saying "YOU CAN'T F.CKING STOP ME!"

It sure isn't. Many articles on those sites have no direct links to original sources (in reality probably none has). Stuff was translated, relayed, edited, and sometimes re-translated. You have to rely on your own discretion to see what's authetic and/or original. I think pryuen has done a remarkable job selecting those he believed most trustworthy to translate and post here. Even so, some bogus stuff may elude his watchful eyes occasionally (not necessarily this instance).

Check out the thread about Yao and Mac on Kimmel live.

    This is what Feign said

McGrady is told of the Yao video making the rounds on the Internet in which he makes a tough jumper, then is seen shouting, "You can't (expletive) stop me!"

"No!" McGrady shouts, falling back in his seat. "He didn't say that! You said that, big fella? What did you say? What did you say? What did you say? Say it now."

With Yao laughing too hard to answer, McGrady realizes why Yao won't tell him.

"Wait a minute," McGrady says. "You said it in English? The same game you beat your chest? Oh, that's great."

Obviously the Chinese reporter gave a wrong information again. Yao did appeared in that show, which is conflict with what Wang Meng wrote.

actually Yao post in his chinese official personal forums many times to
communicate with our fans, especially in his first two year in nba.I think
it's kinda because of the feeling of missing home and also that he is eager
to improve his play. And I find that he like to hear fans' suggestion.
