he's saying the right things and i'm sure he would like to come back, but there really is no need for him to be on a transitioning/rebuilding team at this point in his career. I hate to recommend ring shopping, but he should go to a contending team and play a limited role
Horrible news, the Yao sideshow is a distraction, and the Rockets prolong the rebuilding by hanging onto him.
to those who still hold a tiny bit of hope he may be the force he used to, please give up and move on. to those who is as cheap as les who was labled by many here, min vet will not get yao signed. please stop dreaming and move on.
The Rockets would be smart to sign him to a one year deal. The years are more important than the $$$.
LOL, bless his heart. That's like saying the only issue with Bill Russell making a comeback is his age.
I watched Big E get a championship with the Bullets and Moses get a championship with the 76ers. I don't want to watch Yao anchor the center spot for Miami next season and get a championship because we were to afraid to offer him a contract due to his injuries. I'm not suggesting putting all of our chips into the Yao Ming basket like before but I would certainly try to sign him as a back up for a couple of years to see if he can get past his injuries.
If they do not get a center in the draft, or in a trade, there will not be any playoffs. Sad to say, but Yao needs to retire.
Yall are emphasizing "veteran minimum" like it matters to Yao...The salary he makes in the NBA is pretty much his yearly income "minumum"..Dude is a global icon..Well maybe he was ...But yeah I'll take him back for "the veteran minumum" too
The lockout may be a blessing to the Rockets; it gives them more time to evaluate Yao's comeback and medical condition before feeling obligated to make an offer.
We should sign him to a 5-year $80 million contract. I think he will most likely win MVP next season.
