...I'm looking forward to beginning my recovery. I will use this time to consider all of my options, and will make a decision regarding my career plans as I get closer to the end of my rehab." (@YaoMing statement on today's ankle surgery)
So if it will take 3-4 months before he can start the rehab and another 7-10 months to complete the rehab that will put him close to over a year. I doubt we see Yao in 2011-12 or at the very soonest maybe Feb or March 2012.
The good news is that this surgery is not as extensive as Yao’s 2009 one, the bad news is that the pins are still used to strengthen the area that cracked. Is the surgery successful? The doctors always say this word after each surgery.
Soon enough he will run out of bones to surgically repair and his feet/ankles will be indestructable.
w/ his injury history, it's a good approach. if he indeed comes back healthy, it's just a miracle and treat it as winning mega lottory.
What is the hold up with granting the Rocket's request for disabled player exemption? Is this holding back the possible trade? The league needs to hurry up and grant the request.
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=mc-yaosurgery010611&print=1 WOW, I wonder if they knew what they know now if they still say no to that deal?

I really hope that the surgery is going to be transfering Jeffries' legs to Yao . Not like he ever plays anyway, and Yao would be good if his legs could support him.
Andris Biedrins, he of the $9 million annual salary through 2014, would probably not be the ideal addition to this team right before a new CBA is put in place that lowers the salary cap. But maybe that's just me.
I dont know whats going on anymore. Is it the reporters that are dropping the ball? Morey has them rounded up? Shady rockets organization is being shady cover-up.
On the Rockets webpage http://www.nba.com/rockets/news/yao_undergoes_surgery_on_left__2011_01_06.html HOUSTON - Rockets C Yao Ming underwent a successful surgical procedure Thuesday to repair a stress fracture of the medial malleolus in his left ankle. The procedure was performed by Dr. Tom Clanton at the Memorial Hermann Sports Medicine Institute. Statement from Yao Ming: "I'd like to thank everyone for their ongoing support. I know this will be another long rehab, but I'm looking forward to beginning my recovery. I will use this time to consider all of my options, and will make a decision regarding my career plans as I get closer to the end of my rehab."
Yeah, you're right. Who the hell's got strong enough legs to support a 7'6" 310 pound man for significant minutes in an NBA season plus playoffs?
