This is exactly what a lot of us have been saying, Tmac has to adapt to the system and if he does....the team is really going to fly.

Because he has not played that way, and it is probably very uncomfortable for him.

As to the question about whether he really wants to win......THAT will be determined by whether he adopts to the system or whines his way out of Houston.

how come there's no video of these interviews with yao and wang meng?

how come the local or american media doesn't make a big deal of this? a teammate calling out another teammate in the media usually gets big, example Kobe and Shaq.

not to trivialize the chinese media, but I'd like the american media to followup and ask yao again about this.

something about yao only going to the chinese media for certain things, the we're left to take their word on the translation bothers me.

I think it is because it is not really calling anyone out but rather discussed in a "We are all making a sacrifice to be better" type of setting.

Yao is just saying the team is gelling, and they need to work to get Tmac to fit in....

Not a big deal at all, unless someone has failed to grasp the obvious that Tmac needs to play off the ball instead of dominate it.

It does not matter because it's all true.

I honestly felt thats what happened too to T-mac. Our players were struggling to understand the offence and just reverted back into the old ways. All this talk about being a quitter and a hog. Its not just on T-mac it was on others as well. lucky though they are finding their groove. I personally think its a coincidence it revoles around T-mac being out.

McGrady is STILL a great player. And he will adapt. I have no doubt about that.

McGrady's problem is NOT that he is selfish on the basketball court. He is not. McGrady's problem has been LACK OF TRUST in his teammates to get the job done, and hit shots, and create their own shots. He has fallen into the mode of thinking he has to either score the ball or make the perfect pass/assist that leads directly to the bucket. This is at least partly due to the way Van Gundy used him as his (Van Gundy's) offensive crutch. Van Gundy just relied on McGrady to bail him out on offense way too often.

I think McGrady is benefitting greatly watching the chemistry developing with Bonzi, Rafer, Brooks, Scola, etc., and when he comes back, he will fit in great.

I completely agree with this and it is why I have been saying....when he comes back the team is really going to fly.

    Well spoken sir !

if we're suppose to trust the translation, then Yao specifically says Tmac in the interview.

Of course Tmac needs to fit into the system, that's not my point. My point is Yao going to the chinese media and we're left to trust the translation and wonder why only to chinese media.

this habit can get a bit one sided if left unnoticed.

If Yao's will were half as strong as his wisdom, we'd be preparing to hang our sixth banner. What I'd give to have three more guys on the roster who thought like him.

    hmm...

    New coach comes into Houston
Superstar perimeter player clashes with new coach's system
Superstar center seemingly buys into new coach's system
Superstar perimeter player reportedly starts pouting
Coincidentally, another MEGASTAR perimeter player from another team has had very public trade demands and could POSSIBLY be available.

Should we be worried about Superbowl weekend?

Spot on. I was about to post about the trust issue. The past few games have shown that the team is on a roll and can get it done. Tmac needs to trust that he can give up the ball and it will eventually find him again for an easier score.

It is exactly what I have been saying about Dream when he went out with an injury and the team went on a roll the year before they won their first championship, he realized while he was out that his teamates could play well too....and from then on the team really took off.

I am hoping for a repeat performance.

Hay YAo don't even waste your saliva, it has taken 3 teams, maybe 5-6 coaches and 10 years in the league and it still has not happened.

I would like to hear Tracy say, 'It's on US' for a change - referring to the team... He has to totally buy into the team concept... He's been spoiled by scoring titles (on bad teams) and All-Star appearances and has bought into his own hype somewhere along the line. HOpefully sitting on the bench watching the last few games will make him see the light.

Question is, with the rotation currently working, Whose mintues is he going to take?... Head?... Brooks?... Bonzi?... Battier?... Will SF ever see minutes again?... James?...

I like how Brooks has developed and would rather him not sit because TMac and SF come back.

Need a small trade somehow?
