^ it was exactly what I have been thinking all day, though I half expected to see "Michael Finley is OUT OF BOUNDS" up there...

for some reason "Leonlayswood" still makes me laugh - the greatest 1984 Olympic basketball player EVER shouldn't receive such mockery..

I'm surprised so many people are having such angry and shocked reactions to Donaghy's claims.

This is nothing that we didn't already know. JVG told us what happened, and he got fined hard for it. I always knew he was telling the truth, because I have eyes. The refs were looking at Yao's screens after the first two games, and it was obvious.

Supervisor Z is probably Stu Jackson, because JVG said that Jackson is the guy who warned him. I find it strange that Supervisor Z gave the order to the ref supervisor AND called JVG. JVG's whole gripe during halftime tonight was the lack of transparency. If this report is true, then Stu Jackson calling JVG and warning him was probably his attempt at being transparent.

One inaccuracy being thrown around is that JVG said a ref told him. He said an official told him. He probably used that word on purpose to be ambiguous.

What troubles me most is that the refs were instructed to look at Yao's moving screens. Why not just tell them to look at all screens in general? When you target one guy, it looks like you want to put that guy in foul trouble.

About the economic benefits of the following series, the Dirk/Nash matchup was pretty much equivalent to the lakers/boston matchup of this year. Granted, Yao's presence would have pulled in more money from china, but the dirk/nash series probably raked in more cash from America. Who here knows enough about Chinese and American TV contracts to say which scenario would have made more?

In my mind, the Lakers/Kings series in 2002 was the bigger injustice, even though there don't seem to be accusations about the league giving any kind of orders leading to the hatchet job the kings received. It does suggest that the league assigns specific refs when they want specific outcomes. Does anyone know which 3 refs were assiged to game 6?

Dick Bavetta was the main culprit. The other two were Ted Bernhardt and Bob Delaney.

Wow this is just downright dispicable. I hope more news comes out of this so Stern can be put to justice. The 3 refs for Game 6 of the Lakers-Kings series were Dick Bavetta, Ted Bernhardt, and Bob Delaney.

So i guess now the question is, which two of those three are the 'company men'? Bavetta obviously is one. I'd hate to think it was Delaney because I just read his book and he seems like a good guy. I'm so jaded at this point that nothing would surprise me anymore.

Dick Bavetta is a HORRIBLE ref.....

Seriously JVG should call up the league office and say...ehem...money back please, or we are going to court.

Believe it or not, the reffs favor the spurs almost all the time.

After that no call vs the lakers the league APOLOGIZED.

There has been so many bull**** calls, but since when has the league apologized????!?!?

I knew it wasn't just me who thought that the officiating towards the Rockets in that series was horrible. If you look throughout those games, you can see many missed or bad calls. The play at the end of game 5 where Finley stole the ball from J. Barry while standing out of bounds still makes me wonder how refs missed that. Now I guess I know why.

If yall look at the series on YouTube posted by R2K, they show most of the Rockets field goals, but they do show a few of those "illegal screens" Yao was called for and those were really terrible calls.

Here is a link to game 1, and the rest of the videos can be found in the related videos section : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GoF-1YPM5Cw

However, it is hard to say that we lost only because of the refs, considering nobody besides Yao and Tmac showed up for game 7 and we lost by 40 points, but is sure did make it a lot harder for us to win, and at the end of the day, Dallas did not win fair and square.

Just really amazes me how they (NBA) would do this to a player (Yao) who will make them more money than even Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, and Larry Bird combined ever made the league.

I think Yao should threaten to leave, and maybe that will send a message to the NBA and maybe make them think twice. I know Yao is a true pro, and would never do that, because he is the much better man here, but I'm a believer in karma, so Mark Cuban and the others involved in this will get whats coming to them, and I hope Yao will have great success with the Rockets in the future, which I'm sure he will get one day when all this conspiracy is solved and destroyed.

That's thething. If we would have been officiated properly there wouldn't have been a game 7.

Stay in China, Yao. Forget the NBA. You'll *never* get a fair shake over here.

Once you've thought that far, it's time to stop watching and supporting the league.

These kind of integrity of the game issues are not getting enough play on ESPN. I think this is far, far more important than steroids, or HGH. I don't watch pro wrestling for a reason. Boxing has turned me off because you so often have fixed results. This is beyond "we wuz robbed" fan angst. This story shows that the NBA was weighting the scales in favor of one team and used an unprecedented fine to intimidate others from speaking out. Stern must go.

They need to get Stern on the stand. I would love to see him have to come clean with all the crap he's pulled. I can't really decide how to react to all this. On one hand it legitimizes the claims made by JVG and verifies that we were indeed screwed by the NBA. On the other hand, I now have question whether I should continue following the Rockets when I have no idea whether the outcome of each game is being determined by the league.
