Yao Ming targeted? JVG might have been right in 2005

always thought the refs had it in for JVG and the Rockets even before the Mavs series.

 

pathetic. if we won that series, we might have gone all the way with how confident we were playing.

but it isn't surprising. everyone knew we got the short end of the stick.

 

because its more profitable to have the smaller texas city pass the first round than the large international city with the big chinese center with the billion chinese fans.

I agree that it would be more profitable for the NBA to have the Rockets advance than the Mavs but I also find it hard to believe that JVG would make up that conversation he had with that official.

 

I have always got the impression that Stern wants to take advantage of Yao's popularity without having to give him the benefits given to the other stars in the league.

I'm glad this report was leaked at a time where the spotlight on the NBA is at its greatest because of the NBA finals.

I will always have fond memories of JVG because of that series. He put his reputation on the line and stood up for what was right.

You be the judge. Notice all the phantom calls and no-calls that Yao gets. It pains me just to watch these clips.

 

Still doesn't change the fact that we lost by 40 in game 7 but KNOCKOUT ANY REF THAT WALKS OUR WAY!.

I know Clutch likes moving these into the NBA Dish but I feel you guys. That team to a lot of y'all was one of your favorite in Rockets history I know. They fought hard. For a lot of people including players that retired, never passed the 1st round, and a coaches staff that was eventually let go, it means everything. This story can get as Rockets oriented as we want it to.

Its on us to speak up. Richard Justice, get on Around the Horn tomorrow, PTI, whatever. Do it.

 

The 2005 team was my favorite Rockets team since the championship teams, if they "unfairly" lost that series, I am going to be more than disappointed. I felt that was the team that had a chance. Yao gets beat up without calls and then gets phantom calls on him. This has been going on ever since he arrived. I have suspected manipulation in the league for a long time, but not to the extent that is claimed. This could get really interesting.

Hey guys, who were the reffs during the Mavs rockets series? Apart from the Finley out of bounds, you could TELL that all the bull**** they were calling on Yao was pre planned, i couldn't believe it . Nowitzki was getting calls left and right and Yao couldn't buy a call, and then because of that Sura tackled Josh Howard was it?

Besides, what idiot wouldn't think that Yao was treated unfairly? Haha Nowitzki was getting calls left and right, i remember on this dunk T-MAC had Dampier or stackhouse swatted him right across the face
