We could do the Beer-man, beer-man, beer-man verse during halftime or inauspicious time-outs. The announcer would have to clue the crowd which "verse" to sing.

Do I see a new form of "wave" being born?

you must be kidding. that song sucks. change the lyrics and change the beat. the only time they should play that song is when the other team is at the free throw line to make the shooter laugh and air ball the free throw. :D

As silly as the song seems, it still pumps up the crowed AND the Rockets. Have you seen team members laughing and smiling when the crowd was singing the Yao Ming song? Imagine how much more juiced each team member will be when the crowd has his name on their lips?

Therefore, the song is NOT as silly as it seems. The "wave" years ago didn't do anything except get the crowd and hometeams in sync...duh, that's the whole point.

Did you guys know that the song is really a soccer song? It goes "Ole, Ole, Ole, Ole." They play it a lot during the World Cup and other soccer matchups. The crowd often sings it. It's a song that is perfect for mass singing/chanting. I don't know if that's a good thing...

    My thoughts precisely.

...but while the post is still in function.......

    Pos-ey, Malosk-y, Col-in (Pine), Tur-bo, wait that's just terrible, Clutch-the-bear might somehow work.

    Too bad Kenny left; K-T, K-T, K-T, K-T....

    Anyone have one for Hagadorn?

Anything fun can be overdone -- remember that South American song with all the hand motion in the middle 90s? The Macaroni? Well, we just have to trot it out there, overdo it (as Americans are wont to do), make the other teams climb the wall, and have a little fun with it.

I think the idea is great and the rox definitely have the ability to incorporate these types of situational sound fx but it would beat the life out of a dead horse to death until he was dead if we overkill the tune. I will come up with some catchy things and get them in the right hands if they are good.

Of course you guys will hear them first!!!

I'm afraid a rowdy crowd would start the "Po-sey, Po-sey" verse when the Power Dances come out.:D

Chance, do you think -- if kept to a reasonable limit -- changing the Yao Ming "verses" to honor great players would juice the team and the crowd?

    Dont ruin a good thing!

There is thing called overkill. Lets hope the Rockets realize that.
