Not sure whether Colin Pine was there. There was no report of him there. We have to remember the reception was in Shanghai.....and Colin works in Beijing.....and Monday is not a holiday for Colin.
My first post is dedicated to Yao and Yi. Here is a video (excerpt) of the Wedding, first hand flash: http://www.tudou.com/v/rciFnzuDcu8

I bet Yao views his girl as worth 10,001 points (maybe even to infinity and beyond), which puts him ahead of Wilt Oh well, to each man his own. Congrats Yao
[pryuen] I feel OFFENDED. I used HUNDREDS of hours to translate the information for you guys and now instead of voting my thread 5 STARS you guys are trying to INSULT me. [/pryuen]
Just happened to see these photos on a user forum based in Lin An, the county/village where Taihuyuan located. Must be from the photographer or some of the villagers there. Just like to share these beautiful photos with you all. ENJOY !!!
Hey Pryuen, what do you think about this article? Is it trustable? http://sports.sina.com.cn/cba/2007-08-08/15503090593.shtml I checked tom.com and they have a very similar CNT schedule except that charity game. This is the tom.com link: http://nba.sports.tom.com/2007-08-08/0829/13481112.html It would be so much fun if Sina.com is correct. Couldn't wait for that game.
Well, I was not aware of that. I also learnt this from you. The version that was circulating all these while was CBA is trying to secure the service of Yao Ming and Yi Jianlian such that the national team could play either Cleveland Cavalier or Orlando Magic when the 2 teams meets to play in Shanghai on October 17 for a NBA preseason.....i.e. the 2008 China Game. http://sports.sohu.com/20070808/n251469650.shtml IMHO, both games have technicalities to overcome. For the Sept 15 game against an NBA "All Stars" that included Steve Nash, Steve Francis, Chuck Hayes, Mark James, Greg Oden, Camelo Anthony and Leandro Barbosa, CBA needs to have the back-up support to convince all the NBA teams to release their star players for this charity fund-raising game. Or could it be that they are all under endorsement contracts of some shoes company, Nike, Adidas, Reebok etc. that they could be made available for the game. The October game versus Orlando Magic or Cleveland Cavaliers could be easier to arrange. All CBA needs to do is to "convince" or bend the arms of Houston Rockets and/or Milwaukee Bucks (or whichever team eventually owns Yi Jianlian) to release Yao and Yi for the game. Either Cavaliers and Magics will be there in China anyway. Just my 2 cents.
Agree with you that it would not be easy to accomplish. According to the link below, Yao sort of confirmed the rumour in an interview. A poster in HoopChina.com said that was a CCTV interview broadcasted last evening. Any fans living in Mainland China watched this? http://sports.sina.com.cn/k/2007-08-08/19323091136.shtml
Yao Ming threw a dinner reception for the China men and women national team tonight at the Grand Hyatt ballroom in Oriental Plaza in Beijing tonight. Everyone were there: Li Yuanwei, CBA commissioner, Jonas Kazlauskas, head coach of the men's team, Tom Maher, head coach of the women's team, Wang Zhizhi, Yi Jianlian, Sun Yue, Liu Wei, Xia Song, Sui Feifei.........almost everyone related to Chinese basketball.
Looks like Yao Ming and Ye Li got alot of expensive wedding gifts from their team mates... Wedding gift from CBA: a globle with 9 dragons Wedding gift from the women national team: a jade ru yi (Scepter) Wedding gift from the men national team: a gold ru yi (Scepter) with 5 2008 Olympics mascots engraved on it Wedding gift from Wang Zhizhi: a crystal samurai (knight) from Vilca Wedding gift: a painting from I-don't-know-who
