Since we are graced with crappy threads like this on GARM I will take the opportunity to say that Yao is settling for somebody way below what he could get. This is emblematic of his lack of killer instinct. All of the great big men tried to bone as many chicks as they could. See Wilt Chamberlain Yao grabs the first lanky broad that comes along. Lame.

Not sure why you are so angry pryuen - if you don't want people to comment on these types of threads you should leave it over at YMmania.net.

If you are going to start one then it is fair game. If you don't like what you might hear then don't start them.

pryuen, don't let SamFisher get to you. He is just trying to overcompensate for his insecurities.

Thanks for sharing the info, pryuen.

Well, I'm not angry. I just feel sorry for guys like you who can't differentiate true love versus cheap sex.

As I mentioned, picking a wife is definitely different from boning hundreds or thousands of cheap girls. If you have read/learnt the romance/love story of Yao Ming, I'm sure you won't make such lame comments you made.

Hehe, speaking of the menu for Yao's wedding reception, here're something I just saw posted on a Chinese website:

Pryuen, what do you think of this 鱼翅 stuff, can it be something other than shark fin (I am not from Guangdong/Hong Kong, so I have no idea)? If it is, I think it may raise some eyebrows.

Yao getting married in family-only ceremony
Associated Press, Updated 23 minutes ago

BEIJING (AP) - NBA star Yao Ming is getting married at an upscale Shanghai hotel Monday in front of 100 relatives, with an equal number of security guards expected to work the event, media reported.

After the ceremony and dinner the five-star Shangri-La Hotel, the newlyweds and their guests will cruise the Huangpu River in a luxury houseboat, the Titan sports newspaper reported. The wedding cost more than $130,000, the paper said.

No teammates, coaches or basketball officials will be at the nuptials, the Beijing Morning Post reported. However, 100 security guards would be on hand.

The 7-foot-6 Houston Rockets center and his bride, Ye Li, received their official marriage certificate on Friday. Widely-circulated photographs showed the couple in tuxedo and off-the-shoulder gown having their wedding portraits made at a scenic resort in eastern China last week.

Ye, who is 6-foot-2, is a player on China's national women's basketball team.

Titan reported that Yao and his bride will go to Beijing on Tuesday to take part in festivities celebrating the one-year mark until the opening of the Beijing Olympic Games.

While in Beijing, the couple will host a dinner for members of China's men's and women's basketball teams, the Oriental Morning Post reported. Players told the paper they were still trying to figure out what gifts to give Yao and his wife.

Last month, China's official sports association issued an unprecedented public criticism of Yao for reporting late to national team training.

He was faulted for taking too much time off to recover from the NBA season, as well spending too much time planning his wedding and making appearances for the Special Olympics and Beijing Olympics.

And Ye Li arrived around 11:00am this morning to inspect the preparation of the wedding banquet hall.

Well the 3 main dishes are shark fin with bamboo shoot & fish belly, concumber and abalone; and steamed garupa.

IMHO, even though Yao Ming vowed before he will never touch shark fin, it is a traditional dish in every Chinese' wedding banquet. He might not eat any, but he can't stop his and Ye Li's parents, his and Ye Li's relatives, and their close friends from following the Chinese customs to eat shark fin.

So as far as I'm concerned, no big deal.

That are menus the hotel has. That does not mean Yao have ordered them. That are two different things. Don't be confused by reporters.

Thank Pryuen for the updates. Heck, if Tony Parker can get a lot of attention for his wedding, why not Yao? Keep the Yao summer news coming.
