meaningless activity? their spending time with little children, unlike shawn kemp, vin baker, etc. they can do anythign with their money, but decide to be with kids, and read to them.

he's not a rockets fan, he admitted and posted, that hes only a member here for yao. he said, he wants yao to average 25+, and if he doesn't and we win a championship, he'd still not be happy.

To be honest the NBA runs these campaigns as marketing stunts, at least in my opinion. Of course I'm sure the players participate and contribute out of the kindness of their heart, and there's great benefit. There's no doubt that the NBA is also focused on the need to maintain a bond with the community to continue to gain fans, especially the younger ones.

As a veteran of 8-10 years in the league, I wouldn't be concerned if TMac grew tired of such a visibility stunt and decided to put his time towards more sincere efforts that are meaningful to him and also spending time with family with is where charity starts.

This is not to say that TMac couldn't have made a difference by coming, but if he spent the day with his family then that's fine with me. And if he cares to spend his time doing other things to help others, then that's his choice. This is like making someone feel bad for not pitching in at your company's charity drive; maybe the guy gives in other ways, you never know.

Why don't you put on Yao Ming's practice jersey that still has his sweat all over it and stand next to the Yao Ming height chart at your friend's house and worship him, Mac hater.
