so my friend is just scanning yahoo headlines while i'm not paying attention and goes "oh, that sucks" and as i look up i see "yao out for season" to start off the article. for the first split second it felt like i was reading a clutchfans april fools article, because it just seemed so outlandish, but then i realized, no, i was just reading reality. damn this sucks. the rockets had won 12 in a row, UT had won 8 in a row and was #5 in the country, and even my secondary NBA team the lakers had won 8 in a row and were tops in the west. it was going so well that all i could think was, man this is going too well. and then i get this sledgehammer to the face. the playoffs were going to be some of the best ever and we were going to be part of them. maybe another first round exit, but we would make someone's life hard. and yesterday i was thinking i just hope no big names in the west get hurt to mess up the playoffs. now this news just makes everything feel empty. now the best case scenario is we limp into the playoffs as someone's sacrificial lamb. F this feeling.

I just read Hollingers chat and he said we only needed to go 12 and 14 the rest of the way to win 48 games which should be enough to secure the 8th spot. Looking back to last year and how we performed with tracy leading the team without yao, I BELIEVE we will make the playoffs and you never know if we get a good matchup with a team other than LA or SA we can advance too. Every playoff team outside those 2 has some issues, NOH with experience, PHX with an aging shaq, DAL with a pg that can't shoot, and the rest just aren't that much better than us.
