GUESS WHO CAUSED THE INJURY??? Remember 9 games before when Houston played some team, someone stepped on Yao's left foot...Yao fell down and was freakin' painful!!!??? Guess what that team is? Milwaukee!!! Guess who that guy is? YI!!!
One of the reasons for this fracture is that RA has been playing Yao for too many minutes a game. For any big man it is too much stress.
this is why i dont freaking get emotionally invested in the rockets anymore...i just want to know how much longer is the city of houston going to have to suffer because of "freak" incidents.
You think the doctor is going to put the fault at any specific people, esp the doc themselves? and his explanation can be translated into: it is Yao's body's fault, but nothing else and we could do nothing to prevent it from happening, like limiting his mins to 30-32 a game, being extra careful with his pains in the foot...
I feel exactly the same way, man. I haven't participated on the boards in a while but had to comment on this thread. This really ruined my day. Seriously- I just want ONE season where we don't have to deal with injuries of this magnitude. It's pretty ridiculous. Our team is made of porcelain dolls.
News made ESPN's front page, breaking news. Surprisingly, most of the reader comments are polite and apologetic to Rox fans. Looks like a lot of NBA fans took the Rockets as a serious threat in the playoffs.
how many good years do we still have left behind us supposed Yao is out of the rest of this season? Tmac is like what 28? Yao 27? We finally have the pieces around them but this crap happens, WOW.
GET FOCUSED PEOPLE. We still can win, I think Magloire is a decent backup the guy averaged 9 pts and 9 rebs 2 years ago in Milwaukee. I think he will be motivated to play with a winning team. We need defenders now that Yao isn't there to clog up the middle. Deke is not the answer, he's Chuck at 7'1"
Part of the connundrum presented to coaches is that early in Yao's career, his stamina prevented him from playing big minutes... but he stayed healthy. Now, his increased strength training and endurance has allowed his stamina to stay up and play long minutes... which pre-disposes him to more injuries such as this. Its bad luck... but not something that was completely unexpected, or not without precedent, for men as large as Yao. Rik Smits had bilateral feet problems, Ilgauskas had feet problems, and now Yao.
