i think all houston fans should write letters to yao and just motivate him to come back for the playoffs somehow someway. he does not have to be a superstar when he comes back from injury with this team (just a very very good player say 15 pts and 7 boards) and play around 25 mins a game???

can he be like dwade last yr and come back early? .

what's the real news? what's the rehab timetable?

all i can say is with this news, i dont' trust anyone on the rockets PR anymore.

Biased much? What is that supposed to mean? I'm a Rockets fan who didn't join this board until the T-Mac trade was going down. If anything, I'm biased towards T-Mac.

I've never said T-Mac doesn't have legit injuries as well, but even Jon Barry commented in the game the other day that Tracy ALWAYS has something wrong with him.

ESPN is reporting that Yao will undergo surgery and miss the season and (unlikely) postseason.

Clutch, good point about not giving away the young players in a trade. (and BJax's expiring next year)

This has already been asked once in this thread, but do we know if it is the SAME FOOT as the one he had a problem with before? I think that's important.

Yao going down sucks big time. Going to be hard to make the playoffs, but part of me now just says keep playing to see how things go but in the middle of March if we are struggling, go exclusively to the young guys (including Gerald Green) and let them continue to improve and get a lottery pick to stack things up for next season.

Yes I fully put this all on AD shoulders!!! I called it at the begining of the season. He plays Yao 38 minutes a game or whatever number it is. He is the biggest player in the league and plays year round. Of course he will get hurt playing that much. All he had to do was give Deke 8 minutes a game to let Yao have some rest but noooo he does not care. Now we have to rely on Deke to play and he is probably in the worst shape of his career. F*** AD I hate him so much!!!!

Well, get ready to suit up Deke.

Rockets are going to have to find a way to make the playoffs by playing small ball.

Yao needs to cut down 10-15 lbs next season. That will extend his career a bit.

How about shifting some partial blame to China, who usually makes him play year round
