People who say that Yao is not soft are either deluded or do not know anything about basketball. YAO IS SOFT. Like warm whipped butter soft. Like charmin soft. Like little velvet panties soft.

Dude plays with no confidence. No swagger. He doesnt push his way through anything, he doesnt power bomb people when they come into HIS lane because it is still the lane, not HIS lane. He should be like a freaking linebacker in zone coverage. When he sees the ball coming his way, ATTACK. Make people wish they had made a better decision. Change their shot. You dont have to be a thug to not be soft. Hakeem wasnt a thug but he could attack and he could defend. He was also confident. He knew he was going to win when he came on the floor.

Yao has the potential. Once he stops playing patty cake and takes control is when the Rockets will win. He can lead this team its just a matter of him doing it.

    canoner2002,

If there were some personal experiences which in others had proved help a lot to make them exert more strength, more energy, more enthusiasm, and more confidence, but he didn't have the chance, why not ask some help from the professionals.

It's hard to explain the culture differences, unless you experience it. Yao is still a 2nd year player, also 2nd year in this country. He will grow. I disagree agressiveness cannot be learned.

Have to second this after some major disappointment. Yao played

    with no fire. AT ALL.

    Not cool.
