I was the starting point guard of my school over there.. but when I came here, I saw the starting PG.. he benches 200 pounds, he is about my height, but HE COULD ACTUALLY DUNK... I know that's bad stereotyping and everything..and I didn't even want to bring that up..I dont know why I did.. but I am sure that it's not because I want to prove my points.. I am not even worried about proving it, I know it's right .. I am not one of these silly people who just want to prove they are right .. hey man, please dont take specific examples and look at the details.. u r missing my point.. look at the big picture... everybody had his share in dunking over Yao.. they had no fear from him at all until the last 2 months of the season.. players love to take the chance and go dunk over Yao to be on the highlight real. on the other hand, they dont do the same with Shaq, instead, they say: "hmm, lets play it safe and shoot over him or take a fade away so we dont get stuffed and be on the highlight real as the VICTIMS".. again, I didn't say he couldn't stop Tony, I said Tony just goes straight to the basket without having to worry about Yao because he knows that he can score over him.. well, I dont think Tony would do that if Shaq or Ben were undre the basketll I thought the same way at first, but but when I analyzed the way he defends, I figured out that THEY ARE FOULS, even thought THEY ARE NOT SIGNIFICANT and u would think that they wont affect the shot.. well, I am a 5-6 Point Guard, and I love driving to the basket and going against big guys, but it just kills me when big guys jump into me and they dont call a foul on them, it really affects my shot and bothers me a lot. it is not that complicated, u r freakin 7'6, just go up aggressively and block the dang shot, dont stand there like a sissy and try to take the charge.. and when I say aggressively, it doesn't mean jump into the guy, it means trace the shot down and try to block it if u can, or just try to scare him and change the shot..and that's actually what he started doing after the surgery and I think that's a major factor in his development.. but that takes us back to the original debate, 2 months are not enough, lets hope he comes back healthy next season , and he will be 1st team, he will be mvp, he will be the leading all-star vote getter , and everything u want.. the ranking thing is about the coach, not the players.. I mean, we better rank up in top Defensive teams when we have JVG, if we dont , then he should be at home drinking coffee, not coaching...

look nobody is saying that yao's defence dont need improvement, but the asssumption that he has zero defence is just plane wrong, I really think thats the perception of people who dont watch yao play everyday.
Maybe my comprehension is bad. Yao plays bball for the Rockets and trains in the US most of the time with an American trainer.

Yao has a superior edge in free throw shooting yet he still cant manage to score more points per shot than Shaq, that should speak volumes about Shaqs ability to score the ball. 17.5<17.6 Shaqs been the better rebounder. Look all their production are as close as it can get but Shaq played more games and is the clear winner in the WINS department. I suggest you get over yourself and instead of tryin to make me look bad take a good look at whats in front of you. Shaq 1st team because Yao didnt deserve it. When Yao puts up these numbers on a winner and still doesnt make 1st team then you can b****, but as of right now Shaqs better. Trips to the lottery and putting up good numbers on a losing team isnt goin to prove otherwise, especially with Shaq sitting pretty in the ECF. Next your goin to tell me Shawn Marion deserved 2nd team over Duncan because his numbers were better, or that Tony Parker was the real leader of the Spurs.
In this era of low scoring bigmen bein a good man defender doesnt meen much. Other than Shaq who exactly would Yao have to gaurd, keep in mind he didnt gaurd Shaq this year which probably helped his EFG% allowed stat. You could say Brad Miller but he lit him up, and BIG Z about once this year, he balled up Kaman though Ill give Yao that.
