ron definately is a good offensive player, not super though. his career shooting% never lower than 40% cept this year. he used to be 2nd or 3rd option in indiana and did quite good job. ron just haven't found his role yet. i mean he did play with J O'neal, Reggie Miller and captain jack, he knows what to do when playing with other stars. he is just not a shooter after all. his job should not be just def and shooting couple of 3's in the game...

the thing is his spot up shooting that is surprisingly good. and his playmaking and post up game are surprisingly poor.

hopefully he'll get better. the artest that we are seeing now is not the one we hoped to get.

I think people who have just started watching the nba don't understand this. Its not against the law or unfundimental to finish with a dunk. That's the high % shot in basketball because you're throwing it through the rim. His ft % would allow him easy buckets if he went up strong for dunks.

I hate to bring up non nba stuff, but in college, we had to do the superman move. I mean all the guy over 6'4 had to grab the ball on each side of the paint, take 1 step and dunk the ball with the coach holding a tackiling dummy type of thing and when you go up, he would hit you in the chest with the dummy to simulate contact. Now this was done to instill a attitude that when you get a chance to dunk the ball or go up strong, you do it. Now we're talking about a 7'6 guy that can tough the rim standing up. To say he can't or shouldn't dunk everytime is crazy.

I made the comparison of Brad Daughtery and somehow people injected Smits. Brad was better than smits, in fact Brad was very, very good. Really high bbiq, good passer, effective scorer and rebounder until his back went out. Yao isn't the passer Brad was, but as far as speed and quickness a.d kinda lumbering style, I would be happy with brad type.

I just tell what I am thingking about last attack. I did not say Yao made a right decision. All great players could make mistakes, right? I know Yao have lots of shortness, but do you think yao still is the Top 3 center in this league? When Yao missed the game this season, you should remember what our team look like. Just a mistake, is that very important?

If Yao tried to dunk the ball every time he was near the basket, he'd turn it over or get blocked more often. He doesn't have the agility to just go straight up for a dunk from a stand still position. He needs to gather himself. While he's doing that, he gives the defense a chance to recover. He's also prone to shuffling his feet in traffic while he gathers himself.

I never told you Yao is dream or shark level. But you said Yao is smits level,do you think smits can def DH or Amare well?

exactly. also, after seeing how yao blows uncontested dunks after dunks, i don't know why people still insist on him dunking everytime he can.

That's right! Diffrent player has diffrent skills! You can not ask shark doing turnaround shoot like yao. You also can not ask yao doing dunk like shark.

i dont think so. when you are very close to the basket, ofc dunking would be the most efficient way to finish, i dont think powerful dunks would be rejected more often than layups. i know yao lack of agility, but thats not the excuse. yao can dunk, he just can do it! hes not nate robinson who needs to gather for jumping, hes 7'6 and can touch the rim w/o jumping even. still about the attitude. hes soft...

well, im saying the turth. smitz was a bordline all star, hes not crap man. we know that back in 90s there are many legendnary bigmans, and rik did fine and at least made all-star once, good enough. i dont know if rik smitz can def D.H but sure he can beat amare's def no doubt lol. what i know is if yao was in 90s games against shaq, dream etc; no ****ing way he would get his 20/10. and also if rik smitz still plays nowadays, 18/8 won't be surprised.

Please stop giving Yao and out for being soft. We seen plenty of Yao dunks on people only after they've punked him or tried to punk him. Yao only reacts to aggression and sometimes punks out when people play agressive against him.

We would all love to see Yao just back people down in the paint and try to dunk in their face. We wouldn't care if it got blocked, we only care that he tries.

Wed, night he looked like a 6th grader trying to finish a layup. WTH was that, an L for being soft.

    Man...here we go.

Win with Yao in the lineup...Tmac out...and Tmac sucks. We don't need him.

Win with Tmac in the lineup...Yao out...and Yao sucks. We don't need him.

Lose with both out...we need our superstars.

Lose with either in the lineup...either out...we need the other more...the one in isn't a winner.

You guys are so fare weather. If Yao would have made the last shot you would so be riding his jock right now. Misses a shot and he sucks. Tmac is the guy. Crazy

    I agree M ^

The man had the entire Indiana team riding his back. It was amazing enough that he was even able to get a shot off. You guys need to relax and enjoy the game. I think we are doing pretty well. We are a team that needs to build chemistry and we will do fine.

You are really funny. I swear you even have not watched rik's game. Maybe you just know his name or heard something about him from your parents. Boy, just download some old games about pacers and take some times to remember what you said here.
