There is hard working to make up difficency, Rybo's case. There is hard working to be the best, do what whatever it takes to be the best of best, Yao's case. I think the 2nd hard working is a little more admirable, becuase for Rybo to stay in NBA, there is no other way he could acheive it with.

Basketball players aren't hero. The world isn't a better place for having Yao in it no more then the world is a better place for having Rafer Alston in it. Yao is a great guy I'm sure...but hero? Yao doesn't go around saving lives. Let's reserve that word for people who deserve it like firefighters and volunteers. Be a good guy and humble doesn't make you a hero. Hakeem wasn't a hero. They are just sportstars.
