Which is why it never manifested to much more than an idea. Just cause it never made big waves, doesn't mean francis never suggested it to Yao.

Hey Pryuen, I just wanted to say thanks for spending time translating the articles. From all the posts I've seen from you I don't think you have any agenda against the Rockets, or T-Mac. Admittedly you've said you like Yao, makes sense as you're Chinese, but I think its clear you also like the Rockets and all thats associated with them. I may just be a rookie here but you shouldn't take the negative comments to heart. They're probably a little jealous that people appreciate your work for this site, if anything I challenge all the people calling Pryuen out to make your own translations.

Here are some synonyms for the word unstable (from www.thesaurus.com) that could apply to T-Mac: borderline, changeable, erratic, fluctuating, giddy, inconsistent, inconstant, insecure, mercurial, rickety (back), sensitive, teetering, temperamental, unsettled, variable, volatile.

Seriously guys, are y'all really jumping on Pryuen's back because he translated a Chinese word to mean unstable? That's not even taking into account what the journalist could have interpreted from Yao.

I have to agree...I find it somewhat strange that the Chinese media gets tons of LONG interviews and the US media can barely get anything.

they need to post audio or video of these interviews. at least with the US media you can hear what they say cause of the many microphones and the independence of the journalists. China controls all of these guys.

if Yao is interviewed by a respected Journalist like Craig Sager, or David Aldridge or Kenny/Charles. I'll believe it cause I can see that its real.

Well, one explanation is that we know for a fact that reporters from Chinese media usually stay longer with Yao after each Rockets game. Yao typically does two sessions of interviews, one in English with US/English-speaking media, and another one in Chinese immediately following that. It's not Chinese media's fault the general populace from US media choose not to stay until the end.

Just to add another point. How does the vast majority of US media treat Yao? If you were in Yao's shoes would you be more likely to grant interview to Chinese reporters or US reporters?

But even in with American players...rarely do you see such extensive and in depth interviews. Just seems strange.

I am not in a position to speculate. What I try to explain to Mr. Clutch is reporters from Chinese media usually sit throughout entire post-game sessions and therefore get to ask Yao more questions than their American counterparts do. That's even if you don't count the interviewing opportunities when Yao is in China. So why should it be a surprise that we see more stuff -- veracity notwithstanding -- coming out in Chinese media?

The Pryuen bashing around here has really been getting out of hand and is so unnecessary. I appreciate his translation efforts and hope he keeps it up.

I'm not surprised the Chinese media gets more stuff out of Yao. I'm just surprised that it's so much, compared to what American media gets out of American players.

Pryuen a appreciate your time and effort! Thanks!

i could also appreciate a critical view of the translation, but the criticism loses credibility when its full of personal insults.

Well, man, as far as i know, yao is to be in the court again against Australia in this September representing China. So don't worry about his injury.
but he said after the Beijing Olympics, the surgery is inevitable.

There's only one solution: trade McGrady to LA for Cat Mobely.
