No I think he's conditioned to play soft. It's all mental imo.

Your reasons are really, really pathetic. His career turnover averages is less than Shaq's and Hakeem's. Ewing wasn't a great rebounder either, and he got blocked by Muggsy Bogues. Besides, Yao is the tallest player in the NBA, so basically you're saying that he needs to have none of his shots blocked. That's absurd; even Shaq and Wilt has his power dunks blocked on occasion.

There are reasons why you would consider Yao to not be dominant, but what you put down are not good reasons.

If you have issues with turnaround/fadeaway jumpers.... go find a Hakeem mix, watch it, and you'll realize that Hakeem shot many jumpers, of course after faking a bunch of times.

This is exactly what I was thinking. If Yao doesnt like high posting so much, he needs to low post himself. After all, many claim this is his team, so he needs to learn how to be vocal. Our offense runs through him so now he needs to decide what/when to run type of offensive sets. Its his team now. I trust that he will run it right, but hes going to have to take charge like a leader does.

if Shaq was still playing in his prime right now, would Yao be considered "dominant"? HECK NO. Shaq set a tone for dominance. there will never ever be someone as physically dominant as Shaq. Yea, Yao is probably the best Center, but this league has ZERO centers, so that's not saying much. If Yao is so dominant, why did he shoot a terrible 44% in the playoffs, get swatted by Okur on numerous occasions, and couldn't carry us past the first round?

He might play soft at times but not dunking the ball when he's 5 feets away from the basket without momentum is definitely not something you want to use to back up your opinion. Think.

I want to vomit every time I see a hater says 'we' or 'us' on this board. You hijack the whole board of people to go along with your r****ded posts. Is there any way to opt out from being part of the 'we' or 'us' of this fool?

I've been reading your posts on the forum for a while now and it seems you have some sort of vendetta against Yao Ming. What the hell's your problem? I'd really like to know.

Ewing wasn't a great rebounder? His career average over 17 seasons was 9.8. In his prime, it's 11 rebounds per game. I don't think Yao's nubmer will even be close when all is said and done. And about the block, my impression is Yao gets more often than he should. I mean it's OK to get blocked by Nate Robinson once in while but to get blocked consistently by the likes of Elton Brand, Okur and Kurt Thomas?? Come on he's 7'6 and supposedly has the most unblockable shot in the game!

Yao won't come close to Ewing's rebounding? They already average the same over 40 minutes, and his per game average isn't far off either. 9 and 9.8 rebouds are not that different.

With the blocks, you're just applying an artificial standard on him. Yao had 8% of his shots blocked last year. So did Tim Duncan, and they shot basically the same distribution of jump shots and close shots. For reference, so did Amare Stoudemire, and Dwight Howard got blocked an even higher percentage of the time (10%).

You still don't get it. 5 feets away from the basket, someone leaning behind him, shot clock down to 5 secs. What to do if not settle for a fade away? I guess you want to settle for a shot clock violation? Think.
