I'm not worried at all. This is just preseason, and as Yao said, the coach is only experimenting with what others can do. Yao is also learning his new role as a facilitator, so I see nothing wrong with what Adelman is trying to do.

In other words, stick with JVG's offense. Yeah, that worked swell.

Also, Yao is more likely to shoot fadeaways from the low post than the high post.

A better translation would be "After all, I have the ability to cause damage/injury/trauma inside." While the traslation of "lethal" is somewhat related to what he actually said... the literal translation from Chinese was "ability to kill/injure inside." To say he proclaimed himsel "lethal" would be a pretty big stretch in this context. He also never mentioned "dominant" anywhere in the text. That was made up.

Why is it lame? What does 'maizi' mean? I hear the nick name of Francis is "elder brother" or something like that. It sounds very respectful and appropriated (back at the time). Do you see anything foreign that you do not understand lame and stupid?

really, i can only hope 65% of yao's offensive touches be in the low post.

Nothing around with Yao being in the high post he just needs to play the game to his strengths as well forget experimenting thrwo it to yao like they used to do with kareem.

70-30 sounds about right 70% inside, 30% high post.

It would have worked well if we had Scola and Francis starting and Alston, Hayes, James, and a healthy, in-shape, motivated Bonzi off the bench. Hayes' size hurt us offensively, as did Luther's defense, size, and turnovers. Deke's lack of coordination and lack of offense hurt. As did Snyder's inability to hit a 3. And Rafer playing so many minutes because he didn't have a backup. And Juwan's shot was very inconsistent at the beginning and end of the season. All these problems were solved in a matter of 1 offseason.

oh be quiet you YOF's. adelman has said numerous times that he's not going to take yao out of the low post. he just wants yao to have different looks sometimes. we went to yao in the low post every time in the utah series and lost. yao in the low post isnt as great as you think.

And how quickly we forget how we averaged 98 point per game. That ain't bad if you ask me. 3 years ago with Sura and Barry and all those clowns, we averaged well over 100 the last 2 months of the season. Players play the game.

the regular season is 82 games. I'm sure Yao will 'adapt' just fine, i only care if he 'survives'! no more Tim Thomas accidents etc.

You want yao in the low post more than you want him at 7'6 with skills that he has down low outside shooting 20 foot jumpers. You want a balance attack with yao ming and this is no knock on adelman system becasue his system will open up the game for other guys but Yao needs to play the game to his strengths and his strengths are being bale to beat you down in the low post.

Maybe having Yao stay outside will lower his turnovers since he gets stripped of the ball so much inside. Yao can play the Vlade role I think this would be much more dangerous then to make Yao act like shaq and dominate inside everytime cuz he's not shaq.

daddycool's post is yet another sign that "Read to Achieve" is a much needed program among today's youth.

In the interview, Yao specifically said that Adelman told him he would get more low post touches once regular season starts.

Maizi: Chinese translation is Wheat, its pronunciation is "Maizu", and why we gave him this name is because Mac sounds like Mai and zi usually means a person. Got it?

yeah, i dont want to see yao completely waste his inside scoring abilities, especially since he can decimate a front line if the refs actually call fouls, but with other scorers he does need to get out of the lane sometimes.

i'd say a 65ish-35ish split, 65% inside 35% outside. or there abouts, depending on matchups, who's hot, etc.
