remember there's no "i" in team...we should focus more on team effort rather than individual achievements...i'm sure yao has the same attitude... :)

Well Yao has shot a high field goal percentage his whole career, and Van Gundy I believe wants Yao to get at least 20 shots a game. Yao also goes to the line about 5 times a game. I believe he will finish the season averaging about 25ppg 10rpg. If the Rockets finish with 50-60 wins and go deep into the playoffs, I believe he could win MVP. Wasn't T-mac quoted as saying something like he is enjoying not having the pressure of being the number 1 option? Hell I say let Yao shoot away and average as many points as he wants, because so far this season he is unstoppable even when double and triple teamed!

I think it is too earlier to talk about MVP.
If YM could keep the state more than half season,he will be the strong candidate for MVP.

IF the rate yao is performing continues and rockets win more than 50 and go past 1st round then it's a guaranteed MVP for Yao ming.

Just keep winning baby and other players have to continue to step up and help Yao. There are going to be nights when he's tired or sick with a cold after a long road trip and he's not feeling it...so who steps up then? Mac cannot becoy a role player with a max contract...that's not even reality. He has to step up each night and he's going to have to continue to score...it will make it easier on Yao to continue to have these freakish games that he's having. A long playoff run at least to the WCF will give Yao the notice he deserves along with three or four players of the week.

If the MVP award ever gets stolen from Yao, just think of it this way: He'll do a Hakeem Olajuwon on David Robinson during the playoffs to the b*stard who stole it.

Rock is T-mac's team but not Yao.For T-mac,B Wallace will be a useful big man,and he better than Yao,i think.

officially tracy is still the captain of the team...and both of them are superstars...it's just that tracy has been known to have slow starts...no big deal...he'll step up when the time is right...he just needs to warm the engine and get into the 'zone'...

Get ready for more title runs Rockets fans as Yao is on his way barring injury to becoming one of the top 6 centers to ever play the game.

Yay I called this preseason (check sig).

But it is too early I agree, I think if Rockets finish top 3 in the Conference he will get it. (Not just top 3 but AHEAD of Dallas and Phoenix is a MUST otherwise stupid Dirk will get some extra credit and maybe Nash also).

I think the Rockets will finish #2 Behind the Spurs personally, I hope my sig on their record is wrong and they win even more games :).

no doubt, Tracy is a great player, and no one says he can not get his rhythm back, but with Yao's performance now, you can not say it's Tracy's team, at least any more.

let's face the fact, that Tracy is not Koby.

If the vote was right now he'd have to be one of the top choices, but it's just way too early in the season to start seriously thinking about this thing. Let's just keep winning and then worry about individual accolades.
