that's partly true. but it's also due to him not getting in decent position for the guards to pass it to him. shaq almost ALWAYS gets in a position where he has his man pinned behind him or if he's fronted, u can always lob it b/c he's a freakish athlete.

u can't do that with yao.

and it's not about him being a foreigner and all that. he's a superstar. people respect him. the role players respect him for his talents and skills. but he hasn't done anything to show he can carry this team consistently for the role players to BELIEVE in him, same thing with tmac.

yao talks a lot this year. but has he become clutch? has he been a dominant 4th quarter player?

of course they respect a guy who's putting up 22 and 10. who wouldn't? but they don't believe. just like they don't believe in tmac. and that's why our team is so garbage in the 4th down the stretch.

and pruyen, i don't need to see the 25/10. great players make great plays down the stretch. if you are going to bring that up, tmac always puts up great stats (almost always) but i don't think he brings it either.

rockets fans just have to sit back and say that our superstars have to prove to themselves, the team, and the fans that they can carry the load down the stretch CONSISTENTLY. until they can do that, then it's hard for me to have much belief in them in terms of greatness.

Yao should stop talking about "we played like we didn't care to win, and that included myself."

Next time, he should just play game in a way that shows he does care, and he should inspire his teammates to play the same way. Don't just talk off the court, do it on the court!

After all, we are all expecting him to become the leader, and that includes himself.

Wang Mene needs to stop being a little b****.
That's two times that Wang Mene tried to bait Yao into throwing an individual player under the bus. This is when Tracy broke down in the press conference after Game 7 of the Jazz series.

Obviously, props to Yao for going with the "we win and lose as a team" cliche.

So Tracy said "It's on me". Now Yao says "It is on me".

I appreciate them trying to deflect the blame to themselves. It shows classiness by both of them. But reality is, it's on Rick Adelman and the team as a whole.

Everyone (fans included) must embrace the concept of "team". Instead of viewing this team as two superstars and a bunch of scrubs, everyone should be viewed as role players, with two of the players having roles that are a little more important than others. In success or failure, it's never on one guy, even though it may seem like that when watching a game.

It's not a winning attitude. A winner's attitude is yeah, we didn't get the job done tonight. That's it. Because a winner knows they can get the job done, a winner believes in themselves and their teammates, and a winner knows that winning is in their control.

If you think you have problems and everyone has problems then you think you can't win, and if you think that way it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

No success for Rockets until they drop the loser attitude.

Let me try to clarify some issues here. I do not do it for you because I beleive you just want some attention by talking nonsense based on what I have seen. I do it for the fellow forum friends who do not read Chinese.

1)It was in the flow of the conversation when Yao said everyone had problem. He was referring that specific period(fourth quarter collapse)

2)Yao was talking the team was not fully recovered(felt hurt) from the defeat when he said nobody was willing to talk.

When Yao said "It's on me", he was answering the question who should be blamed(or taking responsibility) for the lose because he was sopposed to be the leader.

Over all, in the interview, Yao sounded serious and showed his conern about the problems we are facing. Although he seemed to be worried(half of the season is gone), he is looking forward and determined. I would say quite positive.
...what will happen if the Rockets fail to make the playoffs?

Yao Ming: I simply don’t have time to think about this. There are already too many issues/problems in front of us. Where or how will I have time to think about this? I’d better use that time to ponder how we can win our next game.
Yao has the right additude.

Precisely! I m fed up of these yao talked about "Sinking Ships", Every one of us including me sucks! talks!
I like yao, he is hardest worker in the entire rockets organisation, he is a walking 25/10 player but we, the rockets need more than that right now especially the 20millions half man half season unable to play for probably another week!
He needs to lead the team on the court, we need him to be 30/12/3 in this difficult situation, yells at his teammates, talks to his coach how to get him the ball in clutch situation not just whines to the chinese media!

Nice translation, Pryuen!
Hope the words and emotion turn into real action on the court. The problem is Spurs just lost too, so they had to be mightly pissed right now also.

When a player says "we", that's usually code for "they". Not always, but usually.

Yao needs to shout at his teammates to give him the ball and Yao needs to shout at the referees to give him the calls. Then he will be able to lead this team.

Yao's right. Every one of the Rockets does have issues. It is just that some issues are way more serious than others: LUTHER HEAD'S idiotic play.

This is an excellent translation! Thanks a lot!

Keep on working and ignore those stupid comments anc critics.

The interview clearly shown Yao's determination. He said "he didn't know" does not mean "he does not know". As a leader, he needs to protect his followers. He already said too much!

Yao Ming: Of course, it is on me.
