I thought the only thing he's doing good lately was rebounding. He had 19 against the Lakers. He had 10 against the Spurs in 16 minutes.

Fatigue...There's been a few stretches this season where Yao seemed to fade.
After a few days rest he'll be back to his competitive form.

Yao's been getting lazy as of late. Ever since that 3 he hit in Golden State, he's fallen in love with taking jumpers. He's become a face up player. Doesn't look like he willing to take the grind of working hard and pounding the ball inside to get a high percentage shot. He's taking the easy way out and settling for the jumpers, where he won't face contact. Mentally, I think he's losing confidence in his inside game. He still doesn't deal with traffic inside the paint well. He usually will either put up a soft shot that gets blocked or bring the ball down low and get it stripped away.

Uh, yeah. You're the one cursing and calling everyone an idiot for not seeing things your way. I think you take this more seriously than anyone on this board...especially for being just an 'occasional' rocket fan. Does this mean you're going to get a life now?

it isnt like duncan is no less of a player than shaq.

you play two of the best big men in the NBA youre bound to perform a bit poorly.

yes, Yao looks mentally tired and start to shoot fall away jumpers. where is the sky hook? where is the dunk? and he is not even try to chanllenge the other's dunk. yes, he is playing aginst the best centers in NBA. but he seems do not have the passion as he had posied. he used to perform better aginst the fierce challenges. I duno why Yao is tired, he played 20 min aginst clippers, and had a day off, then play maybe 30 min aginst the lakers. he has play less time since Rudy left. if the reason he played poorly is because of his confidence level is low, but he is still taking the shots and demands the ball. so I duno..maybe absence of Rudy has something to do with it.

I have to agree with those blaming the fact that Ming is tired as the cause of his poor play of late. The guy needs a break and unfortunately it is going to cost us the playoffs. We have done an excellent job of involving Yao in the past few weeks and now that he is not producing the O doesn't fit and we go back to isos. I am really scared (not scared...worried) that Yao is not going to get sufficient rest this summer either playing for the NT in China. Hopefully these couple of day breaks can get him through the season and *if* we get into the playoffs there are no back to backs, but whateveer happens the man needs a vacation.
