Ok. let me ask you something.

One on One. 5th year Yao vs 5th Year Ewing.

Half court game. First to get to 21.

Who do you think will win it? Yao or Ewing.

Mind you. Ewing is 6'10 (true size) Yao 7'6. 310lbs.

Do you think Ewing had a better low post game than Yao?

Put everything you have on the line. Even your life. (Hypothetically).

    You think Ewing will win?

    a 5th yr patrick avg 26.6 ppg, 11.2rpg, 3.2bpg, 1.2spg.

so yes, i would say patrick would beat yao. and u gotta add in the defense. ewing is a great defender. if okur could make yao shoot 44%, oh man, please.

yao is good. but he's not a superstar yet. so relax. yao can still improve. but at this stage, he can't even smell patrick ewing, let alone see him.

oops, a 5th yr patrick avg 28.6 ppg in a tough eastern conference in an era of great big men.

guess that wouldn't help would it?

Wait....what happens if you have a 5th year Yao teaming up with a 5th year Ewing, and they are taking on Coach Ditka, and Mini Ditka?

No contest right, Mini Ditka would squash Yao and Patrick between his teeny tiny butt cheeks.

exactly, the good thing is we have seen yao improve ever year. his work ethic is one of the best. hopefully he'll just improve more. i don't look at improvements on stats, but the dominance he showso nthe court.

sometimes 20 pts is good if he draws a ton more double teams. it's not all about stats.

Don't forget Yao plays in an era where teams are allowed to zone him off the ball, which makes a BIG difference.

i think zone hurts the perimeter players than the big men. if yao was a little more athletic like duncan/kg/shaq, zone would be a breeze.

zone hurts guys like tmac/kobe/bron/wade more b/c it makes their game so perimeter oriented. did u remember the first yr the zone was implemented in 03-04, tmac struggled mightily before adjusting. basically EVERY team played zone basically 40 of the 48 mins on orlando and tmac struggled b/c it forces you to stay on the outside.

for a guy like yao, if he learns how to get better position, he takes the pass and power up, it's a wrap. but yao is still learning.

YOU got to be kidding!? Look at how Dream played against the Sonics back in the days when they basically played the zone defense.

look i truly want yao to be the one of the best big men EVER and the best big man now bar none. i want him to reach a stage where it's not a question whether he's one of the best, but a given.

when that's reached, it means our team will be better. tmac will have it easier. the team will go to another level.

but that day is not there. we just hope it's next yr.

and did u see how tmac played against the zone when he was the scoring champ? even worse.

he went through 2-3 game stretch where he basically avg 7-8 pts on 20% shooting, capped w/ a 4 pt performance v. the wolves.

again, zones are generally used to stop penetration and force jump shooting. u break that zone by bringing the ball inside. that's why u don't see zones v. shaq. u pound it in, it's a dunk.

Am I the only one who thinks sonkon and denniscd are the same person?

Evidence a; They on more than one occasion have spoke highly of one another.

    Now thats a little fishy.

Evidence b; Sonkon stood up for denniscd.

:eek:Why would anyone stick up for denniscd?

Evidence c; Their post are eerily similar. Short usually no more than 1 paragraph long, usually nothing of any intelligent substance. The only thing not similar in their post is denniscd’s arrogance. The one thing people here don’t like. Seems kinda convenient doesn’t? He has to keep sonkon image as clean as possible. That way when he (sonkon) defends denniscd (himself), He has some credibility.

You see what we are looking at here is some young kid who is playing us. Cant believe I didn’t catch this earlier. I mean really how could anyone be that arrogant and unintelligent, I mean reeeeaaallly? Well you have had all your fun with me little fellow. Ill play your little game no more. You really had me going there. College coach,,,,,bwa hahahahaha Yeh right. Now that I have figured it out I feel so much better about humanity. You ,,,,,,,,,,,JR, are officially on my ignore list and I’m pretty sure a lot of others now that you have been exposed! :p

Next time you play your little game you should be a little less jerk off. No one could be that big of a dick in real life. Its what gave it away. ;)

So Ewing shooting 36% from the field had nothing to do with them losing (50% career shooter)? Or getting outscored every game in the series? Or for letting Dream hit him up for 27 a game on 50% shooting, since defense was Pat's forte (this is with Oakley and Mason for support)?

With all that being said, I still wouldn't take Yao over Pat at this stage.

again, didn't i say hakeem was one of the best 2-way players and easily the best 2-way big man of all time?

and otis thorpe was a great defensive PF too. let's not forget that. and the series was a defensive slugfest.

again, ewing doing this v. hakeem is more understandable than yao doing v. okur

I agree. I just think Ewing played just as bad as Starks did. 36% isn't cutting it for a center....

pussum...you are no detective...but continue to lash out in much the same manner you accuse me of doing. im a coach. ive played in college. my experiences with the game far outweigh most. that doesnt make me always right. but too many here think they are experts when in fact they are nothing but novices with strong opinions. which is ok, if you recognize the limitations that you have to analyze the game. if that is being arrogant so be it. and on a personal note, you seem very soft and have a hard time with any criticism.
