We're not voting for the president here. We are not the electoral college. Unlike in politics, you are allowed to vote as many times as you like. In fact, I'm sure the NBA likes to see folks vote multiple times so the can publish big numbers in the All-Star ballotting. They encourage multiple voting by giving away prizes at games for multiple ballots. They set up their website so you can vote daily. It is more than ok to vote multiple times -- the NBA has set the rules to allow more of a voice to those who care the most to vote their boys on. Limiting your vote to one to preserve the integrity of the election is silly because the election wasn't designed to have people vote only once. (Though, voting multiple times on the last day via the internet by doing some shennagins with cookies or whatever does seem to violate the spirit of the election).

As for the best player, again you define things too narrowly. If they wanted the best players, they wouldn't put it to a vote at all. They want some balance, which is why the coaches choose the bench, but the election is just a big marketing gimmick. They want to start the players the fans want to watch; they want to be sure the fans will watch by putting out the players they want to see. This is about entertainment, not competition (if it were about competition, they'd play some defense in these games). Which is more entertaining, watching a great player you hate or watching a great player you like? Personally, I enjoy watching players I care about and I'll vote accordingly. I think you should too: if you want to see Shaq, vote for him -- but vote every day, the NBA wants you to.

Here's a fine word of advice:

"I never have a problem with fans voting for the All-Star game because the game is for the fans. They can vote for whoever they want. If that is who they want (Yao to start over Shaq), so be it. It's not about who is the best player. Any fan can vote for whoever they want. If more people want to see him, so be it."

You sure sound like a true Rockets fan! LMAO.

It is fan voting, take it easy, I will vote for whoever I like, as many times as I want, so what??? Lighten up! A true Rockets fan will want to see a Rocket play, or better, start in the all star game.
