More and more, Yao is sharing a lot of attributes with Boxer from Animal Farm.

It also seems more and more likely that he'll share the same fate. I was hoping he'd be a role model on the team, but very rarely do I hear about other players putting in a fraction of the amount of effort.

That's from the JVG days. That particular line is referring to their defensive philosophy, which was to give up the contested 2-point jumper versus shots in the paint or 3-pointers. And it's "1 contested 2 point J" because you don't give them a second chance shot opportunity (high emphasis on defensive rebounding).

Man, that s a bad news. Hope that all the 3 plays in that Warriors game because that s a very important game for us and we cant lose that one. Man, these sickness and injuries are killing our team. Seems like that it s our unlucky year.

So it seems Chuck Hayes is getting specialist training. This is good and
it's nice to see he training hard in FT. BUT the trainer should be replaced by
Mutombo and make sure the trainer jump up to try block every shots he tries not just staring at it.

If T-mac and Bonzi were not feeling good, having them rest would not be a bad idea at all. A sick person will not play well and that is for sure.

I know Yao is a tough guy, but is he ok to return early and participate in team practice? If he is revovering from the respiratory infection, he must be feeling powerless. Isnt that good to have a rest for him?

The coming game against Warriors is so much worth expecting a WIN sin we lost to Jazz. I hope our team is invigorated and be ready to kick some a$$...

Rockets gotta watch Yao like a hawk. Remember this is the guy who played with a broken foot and an infected toe. This guy wants to play no matter what. He wants to play if he is running a fever or sick with the flu. If I were the Rockets Medical Staff, I would be watching everything he does and take what he says with some skepticism.

I would bench him the moment he slows down or exhibiting any signs of pain or sickness. Yao will never take himself out of the lineup willingly. This is our franchise player so the medical staff needs to be on him 24/7 to make sure put himself in the hospital or gets himself injured for a prolonged period of time.

good info. was wondering if they were doing something different this year. you figure half way through the season and the free throws still not going in, adelman might try something different.

you have the wrong idea about the NBA. the NBA is a multibillion dollar business, with millions of people counting on these athletes to deliver

the NBA is not Happy Country Day Preschool, where your mom puts you to bed in your PJs with corn and chicken soup and lets you watch power rangers all day and asks "honey does your throat feel all right now?" and asks your dad, "dont you think he looks a bit yellow? he looks a bit feverish to me." and the school sends a memo home to the parents, "please keep your children at home so the other 6 year olds dont get sick."

this is PROFESSIONAL sports. where if the doctor clears you, and youre not in imminent danger of long term injury you ****ing go earn your paycheck. do you not remember michael jordan dropping 40 points with the flu in the NBA Finals or Pete Sampras throwing up on center court at the US Open? isaih limping up and down the court with a dumb ankle chasing after Magic. this is sports dude, when you're chasing teams for the playoffs you go out there and play if at all humanly possible

"isn't he going to be tired?" "isn't a sick person not going to play his best?" "shouldn't he rest so he isn't tired?" what are you his mommy? there are high school athletes who go out and play sick so as to not let down their teammates. it's something called heart. if you've ever had teammates whom you dont want to let down (let alone millions of fans across houston and the world) you suck it up just like yao is doing.

now let's just hope tmac shows up

So I guess Yao should refund the Rockets the money he earned by not playing against the Jazz? So let me ask you, why didn't Yao "suck it up," and play vs. the Jazz?
