I love everything Yao Ming stands for. I loved playing with Yao!!!!!! I love everything Yao Ming stands for. Sad day for the NBA. Sad day for basketball around the globe. My teammate and great friend Yao Ming is retiring.
Man... I feel for Yao as I know he wanted to be the best which is what I appreciate about him more than anything. A classy, fun loving dude. I wish he and his family all the best! At least he became a wealthy man trying to do what he loves. Something we all can hope for.
<iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/D5JGtAksiM4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> always cracks up sucks that he has to quit atleast he'll get his jersey retired only for being 7-6 and chinese
On the bright side, at least his $18,000,000+ cap hold is gone. I know we can finally move on, but it still is bittersweet, and it's gonna be hard for me....
Really sad. Can only imagine what could have been. He truly seems like a great guy. This retirement is for the best for him/his family. But it is sad.
Yao rules. He totally rekindled my interest in the Rockets, which had evaporated after Hakeem was traded. He was the team's magnetic pole for 8 years, through good times and bad. Decent restaurant, too. Gonna miss the big man.
The last of the Rudy T Rockets. Started and ended as a Rocket. Never ever will get booed by Rockets fans. A real Rocket hero.
Class. Act. Don't let the disappointment of his physical decline overshadow what an exemplary character he was. A great story.
T-Mac also changed his Twitter picture to a photo of Yao. I thought it was a really nice gesture on his part.
Sad day for sports fans because Yao wasn't just a good basketball player, he was a great man. If today's athletes are the embodiment of what is wrong with society today, Yao Ming was the antithesis to that argument. He was always friendly, was happy for others' success, and always tried to help when possible. We are gonna miss you big fella.
My favorite Yao Ming moment was at the press conference after Game 6 of 2009 Portland series. <iframe width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/aZtxQkay0ac" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> It was great seeing Yao so happy to finally get out of the first round after how sad he was after game 7 of the 2007 Utah series. Its too bad he could never get a ring but he gave it his all and thanks to all he brought to the Rockets.
