It's very interesting to witness Yao going from Heaven to Hell in about a week. He's angel after Game 1 and when he's injured and out of the playoff he naturally became the demon that most people would want to get rid of asap.

I'd try to get Yao out on the perimeter more and see if he can flourish in a Okur or Rasheed Wallace type of role, then post him up if the match up is too easy to pass up.

It's not just Yao. We do that with Tmac, Artest, and Brooks. Even Shane was getting criticized alot when he wasn't producing on offensive ends.

    Trade Yao to LA.
He will get more appreciation there.

Without Yao the Rockets will be
    - a lottery team
    - lose 90% of the chinese fan base
    - even lower media attention
    - making way less money for the organization

    Good luck rebuilding.

Well it's clear you're a new Rockets fan because you don't know anything about Rockets history. Name the year that Hakeem averaged 19 and 9 and we won the title. It never happened.

Or name the year Duncan, Kareem, and Shaq were the best players on their teams and won the title averaging 19 and 9 without two other players scoring in the high teens.

You're without a doubt one of the worst posters on this board.

Thank you, i was just going to write the same.

Not to say that the other 2 (Duncan, Shaq) players had a near MVP player for the finals alongside them.

Shaq had Kobe averageing about 25 and Fisher about 12.

Duncan Had Ginobili averageing 20 and parker 16
and the Parker 20 and Ginobili 18.

yeah, we should trade him for Kobe Bryant, right?

Making us a lottery team, right?

Don´t be delusional, a lottery team doesn´t beat the hell out of the first seed. (not to say that by that time the rox would have 2 other players around 15 millions each)

Table this talk until after the playoffs, but there is a legitimate conversation to be had here.

LA lost to the Bobcat twice this year. What's your point?

They lost a RS game, that didn´t care squat, and the Bobcats were complete.

This team just won a very important game, without 40 million dollars (more than 50% of the cap space) sitting down in the bench chearing.

Please be more respectfull to the players and don´t even compare our team to the bobcats.

Why don´t you create a "Yao Ming Fan Forum" where all of you can agree on how the Rox need to give up the season in honor of your man??

You should be banned for idiotic posting.

We played a great game last game but I don't see we can play like that consistently. Do you expect AB to hit a career high every night and Shane to hit 5+ 3s every night?

Why can't you give more credit to the Bobcats? They won and that's the fact.
It's the NBA. Lottery teams are able to beat the best teams and they are still a lottery team. How many times we lost to Bobcats and Memphis this season?

Agreed, very frustrating to witness this scene YET AGAIN. As a fan, it is absolutely beyond frustrating to see the 2 big stars on this team get injured time after time after time again. It is like re-living '97 with Barkley, Olajuwon, and Drexler except all of those guys were on the wrong side of 30. What is the excuse for McGrady and Yao?? They are just injury-prone and it sucks for us as fans.

However, if we are able to keep winning games in the playoffs without Yao, I think it is definitely something the Rockets FO is going to have to look at. Adelman is an offensive mastermind and I really wonder if Yao is the best player to fit into his offensive schemes.

Another thing to think about - with the Spurs being the exception, most of the teams that are winning these days in the NBA have elite perimeter scoring threats like your Kobes, LeBrons, Melos, Pierces, etc. We did have that guy in McGrady except he gets hurt all the time and he isn't as strong mentally as those mentioned above (Melo is questionable, I know, but he has made it out of the first round which is more than what McGrady can say).

We actually didn't lose this season to the Bobcats (too bad I can't say the same about the Grizzlies as we lost them to twice). We were too busy losing to the Wizards at home (when we had everybody) and getting blown out by the Bucks and losing to the Clippers.

We're a top west team even without our two "star" players. If we could trade them for more fringe all-star players, we would be the 2001 Sactown Kings, except we'd be young and a dynasty.

If your name isn't MJ, LeBron, Wade or Hakeem, you're tradeable.

At this point I would trade Yao for another bruiser. Give me Paul Millsap, Brandon Bass, or Leon Powe.

Trade T-Mac for another wing. I dont want an all-star wing because the Battier - Artest starting duo is too good of a defensive combo, but an off the bench spark like a Rudy Fernandez would be great.

Of course, theres no way we're trading Yao, ever. I dont care how many times he goes down. He's going to be a Rockets till the day he retires, unfortunately.

Posing a question: Who is to blame?

I've been kind of looking back at the Rox success without star players such as Yao and Stacy. After some analysis and reflection, I have come up with the following questions : Is it the coaching staff's fault for not utilizing Yao Ming? Is Rick Adelman's offense not suited for a big man like Yao but more for a mobile big man like Vlade? Is it Yao's fault for not positioning himself in the paint in order to make entry passes easier? Does Stacy even follow Adelman's offensive scheme?
