Thanks for trying R2k. No luck on those other links as well. I get the bbs thread it goes to but each time I click on one of those links I get a "unable to display page" message.
If you can't see it, it's probably an issue of overload, just like with the BBS. Too many people are trying to view it simulaneously.
Tim, While we're at it, is there any reason why there are no decent hats on Rockets.com? I promise I'm not trying to be belligerent, but I'm stuck here in Utah, and it was about a month long internet search for me before I finally settled on a hat from Lids that I wasn't exactly what I wanted. However, it was the best I could find online or in stores. (I should mention that during this time, I also visited my inlaws in Maryland/Virginia/Delaware - you'd think they'd have something in the land of Steve Francis...) None of the hats on the official site even have the new logo on them! It just seems like, and I admit that I don't have any research to back this up, the Rockets have to be missing out on some of the national and international market if a diehard fan like me, who after a concerted effort to buy a hat, could not do so. Just interested to know what y'all think about that. Thanks for your concern.
I have tested it on multiple machines now...and finally ran into a similar problem that you are having.. In order to view it in browser you have to have a functional install of quicktime plugin..the wireless laptop I am typin this on wont do it either...but my home computer(wired) on the same network will....so it is looking like what you and I are running into is a client side malfunction... Noone else has complained of not being able to see it...so you need to start checking your machine to see what the problem is. also...have you been able to right click and 'save as'? or have you just been clicking it to play?try to save as and then see if you can play the file...you should be able to.
Thanks. Got it to work. I had to re-install WMV 9.0. I put in a new vid card last weekend and it loaded some players that broke the plug-ins. That is a hilarious commercial! Not sure why I haven't seen it on TV yet though! Probably just have missed it at the wrong times in the last game or something.
I agree! I live in Savannah, GA and can't find any Rockets gear in stores. Nothing with the new logo. And what is even more inexplicable is that ONLINE I cant find a ton of stuff. I can find jerseys but not much more? How about a bunch of different Rockets t-shirts? practice shorts? game shorts? hats? where is this stuff? Why doesn't the Rockets.com Online Store carry a bunch of stuff? In the past you said something about the Rockets Shop at Toyota Center having exclusives etc. That is all well and good but there are a lot of Rockets fans living OUTSIDE of Houston that are gettings screwed here! Get the Merchandise out there!!! I really would love to find some "new logo" Rockets practice shorts and game shorts available online. Anyone have any links?
Tim, I/we really appreciate your opening yourself up to our interpertations of things. On the "pricing out of the market" issue, it seems to me pretty easy to prove. If all the $10 (pretty hard to call that too expensive - I park on the street for free and drink from the numerous water fountains - though the ice cream stand has caught me a time or two) seats are all sold out and there are numerous other empty seats, then price is an issue I would think. If there are $10 seats generally available at non-sold out games, I have to think price is not an issue. But this issue seems to have been passed over. Really, I wanted you to clear up one of your previous comments... Could you clear this up for us outsiders and tell us which are "generally not good guys. I am just interested to know. If that is to politically incorrect, just post to everybody here who are the good guys, and we will figure it from there. Seriously though - Thanks
I'm shamelessly bumping this because I'm hoping Tim will notice and respond to my (our) concerns. I hope this doesn't invoke the wrath of the Forum Gods.
Busy weekend ... just catching back up with the threads. As for hats ... I think the best selection is at the store in the arena. I know that doesn't help you out-of-towners. The hats available on-line are all the official Reebok/Nike/official league merchandiser hats. We sourced the hats in our store independently -- which means we were able to develop exactly what we thought people wanted. The downside is that merchandise from a non-official league merchandise supplier can only be sold in the arena. We are looking into setting up some kind of order-by-phone or -by-web operation. It's just a matter of working through some other priorities regarding the arena before we can focus on that. This isn't a knock on hats from Reebok or Nike, by the way. They know their audience, too, and they have good designers. We're just a little more familiar with the fans that come to our games, though. On the "pricing out of the arena" issue ... the price sections that sell out last are the $14 and the $65 sections, and sometimes the $55 section. The $10 section, the price points in between $14 and $55, and the price points above $65 sell very well. So, yes, considering that our second lowest price point is one of the last to sell out -- there's generally not an issue with people not being able to get an affordably priced seat, provided of course that we're not sold out, which is happening more and more often. The only exceptions I can remember was the Chicago game. It was a Family Pack game, and we tend to sell out the upper bowl pretty early. Fans walking up right before the Chicago game for example, were told the cheapest tickets available were at $55. But that's right before the game -- you take your chances doing that. Buy early and there's always plenty of options. As my comment that the players are "generally good guys," that only means that they aren't perfect. It's a good group. I wasn't trying to say that some of them are good and some aren't. Tim
