Sort of, but better. We'd have so many assests to trade, Monta Ellis, brooks or lowry(since we'd have curry), we'd have a little cash for free agency since Yao's salary would be greatly reduced.

Good grief! How something like this could make it in print boggles the mind. Clearly, some hack is trying to reach the abyss the Chronicle's writers inhabit.

Don't see much crediblity in this report. Just recently we saw footage of Yao working hard on his rehab. Unless he has a major, major setback, I don't think he'll retire without at least trying to comeback next year.

This doesn't seem accurate. Any article listing Yao at 7 ft, is already way off. Plus he IS trying to come back.

The author is a business writer who probably covers Silicon Valley 99% of the time and the only reason he wrote about this is because it involves Ellison.

It also sounds like he knows nothing about sports.

Technically speaking, he is a seven foot six center, albeit a seven foot center nonetheless.

Is it any better having a 17m suit model, winning 50 games, and no real shot at a title?

Its BS, I don't think the nba would let Yao be part owner of another team while he's playing for the Rockets or whoever.

wow, I hate journalism... why are the good reporters never put in editor positions? This is hack work. No attribution, typical sports babble that isn't true.
