Yao's younger, has less chronic injuries, and a much more dedicated worker. Have to say McGrady on this one. He already looks retired.
That being said, I don't expect Yao to be an all-star caliber player ever again. He'll be a good player because he's so skilled, he might get voted into the all-star game because of China, but we're never going to see him be as good as he was before. Just my 2 cents. That foot of his just lets him down too consistently. It's going to be a struggle for him to even stand on it, much less make any sort of explosive move on it.
I voted McGrady because of how stubborn he can be. Yao will realize much earlier (in perspective of his own career) than McGrady that it is time to go. McGrady still has that chip on he shoulder that he can't let go of
I think its funny that people call yao "aging"..The dude is 29 years old! Yao's problem has been his foot, not knees or anything like that, so to call the guy an "aging" star is just not correct. I am willing to bet that yao will come back from this corrective surgery and be just as good as he was before, and he will play until he 35 or so. Tmac on the other hand has been used up, just like LT from the Chargers. Been in the league since 1997 and has a lot of mileage on his body. Tmac will def retire first, probably in the next 2 years or so.
Ah, I think Mac can still bring 15/4/3 to the court every game. And I'm sure Yao can bring 18/8 a game. Both statlines are pretty darn good for 30+ year olds.
