That is assuming that Ben Wallace has not gone up against anyone else that is taller than him. By your reasoning, Wallace should get dominated by anyone taller than him strictly because of his size. That makes no sense. Ben Wallace is a great player, no matter who he goes up against. Yao had the better game on Sat. Yao dominated that game on the boards. Would John Amechi put up 23/30 on Ben Wallce because he's taller?

Plain and simple. Yao dominated Ben, not because of his size, because of his talent.

Maybe you turn out to be right that Yao will be similar to JBC stats-wise (which I seriously doubt -- I believe Yao will be better). But what you said above is plain ripping/bashing/hatred, so irresponsible. Maybe you saw some Yao's fall on ESPN highlights, but I wouldn't believe Yao was flopping, and I belive he never will.

It's an insult to question him like that.

I respect what you like. But a player who plays hard with some facial impression doesn't mean he is a great player (no offense to Steve, he is a good player, who plays out of control sometimes); by that standard, there are many NBA players who should be considered greater than SF or Yan or Shaq -- I could be one if you put me on the court even though I would miss a 3-foot jumper.

Honestly...I can't believe where people get this stuff. You are certainly entitled to your opinion but Joe Barely Cares?? Where does that come from? If you wish to look at the numbers that's one thing but JBC ? I remember JBC and let me tell you that they are nothing alike as players. I think that you posted this to stir up stuff and take a shot at Yao. Yao plays with 100% more passion than JBC. What's next?? Sleepy Floyd=Steve Franchise......

If anyone is comparable to JBC, it's not Yao, it's Shareef Abdur-Rahim.

The game against the Blazers is exactly what I was mentioning.

Yao has a habit of disappearing for long stretches of a game. For the most of the game Yao was a no factor. He hit two big shots in the 4th but other than that had only slightly more impact on the game than Meech.

If you are going to be the most dominant player in the game, then you must impact the game in some kind of way any time you are on the floor. If you're not getting a lot of shots, dominate the boards, control the lane, block some shots, get some steals - do something!
