Apparently not. Again, if you were arguing games played to begin with, you would get no flack from me. But that was not the case.
No offense, but you are apparently part of the "reading-comprehension impaired" mafia in this forum. Good day.
Mmmh, what I don't see is why is better for the Rockets to doubt about Yao's status in order to atract some all-star player... I think all parts are just being prudent and cautious, bearing in mind the past events. Morey and Yao are also known as very wise and realistic people, not like dear cross-eyed.
Um. Sure. Favors has looked like utter steaming garbage and needed a "breakout game" just to get his average above 10. While dominating the summerleague means jack, GETTING dominated in the summerleague probably gets you a nice comfy seat by the end of the bench. Good luck.
Yao has close to zero trade value right now. He's in the last year of his contract, and he's still a ? What offer could you get that would be worth trading one of the best big men in the game for? Even if he is a 15/10 guy, that's very good for his position. That's rare to come by...even Bynum can't do that. Houston isn't interested in trading Yao. Morey isn't being quiet to get offers or anything. They honestly don't know what to expect...it's really that simple. There are no pocket aces here. If they knew Yao was going to come back strong they would say so to help sell season tickets. And if they thought that they would have signed him to an extension. They haven't. And that act alone has shown the Rockets hand. Here's how it will play out: 1. Yao comes back strong and stays healthy for the entire year showing that his foot is completely better. He will get rewarded with a 3 year extension worth a lot of money. 2. Yao comes back and plays ok - 15/10, but isn't quite the same player. He will get a contract but it will be for much less - maybe Scola type numbers 3. Yao comes back and doesn't do much OR gets injured again. Houston will let his contract expire. Under no circumstance will he get traded. His potential value to this team as a championship component is still higher than what we could get in a trade, and we don't need any more "assets" - we need superstars. So why trade away the only potential one you got? It makes no sense. You can't get one in return. Count on this - if Houston isn't willing to bet on Yao - it's unlikely anyone else will.
Why wouldn't he be able to return? Doe he need to have elite status? I don't see how a center like Yao could become rusty. He's shooting too close to the basket and is too damn tool for anyone to defender him. He also has 3 legit scorers tto work with while starting. 17 PPG 8 RPG on 50-55% shooting is all I'm looking for. Best of all, even while not an elite defender, 7'6" protecting the basket is a huge help
He'll have another thing in common with "He who shall not be named" Neither will return to their previous forms after their latest devastating injury. Yea yea..hard work I know *Flame suit on*
i don't understand why so many ppl here pay so much attentions on his quotes. you all read way too much on his quotes. what do you expect from him? like tmac? i am just laughing at what tmac said during the workout with bulls - http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/nba/news/story?id=5412508. i rather have yao's answer in this case.
