What was ridiculous was how Chinese fans boasted that Yao would end the season with 18 ppg and 10 rpg averages.

can i ask you something? do you think shaq is a good rebounder? he's notorious for not being a good rebounder and he got outrebounded by yao last night.

is yao athletic? obviously he is since he can run like a small forward when he wants to. and if you saw that game he played against the orlando magic earlier this year, you would have saw him put it on the floor and drive to the basket and do a move that i've never seen another 7'5 player do. he drove to the basket from the three point line with a lot of defensive pressure on him. and he has more athleticism than any player in nba history at 7'5. about lateral movement, did you see him beat antonio davis to the rim and block his dunk attempt so hard that antonio davis fell to the ground. and about that diu lay comment, every fake a$$ian learns all the curses. pok guy. and no i'm not cantonese.

well, i'm chinese, and i never predicted yao would end the season with 18 ppg and 10 rpg averages. and i have better things to do than boast about yao's stats. if you think all chinese are flocking to nba.com and buying yao jerseys. you must be joking. i don't have the money to waste on ugly clown pajama jerseys and i wouldn't be dumb enough to buy that ugly home jersey period.

while i don't think of yao as a great player yet, i do know one thing and that is he's better than people expected and i knew he would since i saw him play against alonzo mourning in the olympics and the potential was obvious for anyone who watched china hold a brief lead over the US dream team while yao was in the game before he fouled out.

Err, some of us non-Chinese fans thought Yao was God as well. :D

What's really ridiculous is that you are continuing to bash one of the most popular Rox players on a Rox fan forum. Can't you think of something better to do with your life....

Hey, genius -- there's no such thing as "reverse-racism." Regardless of what race is being discriminated against, it's still just plain ol' racism.

I would love to see your comments about Kobe, T-Mac, etc. after their lackluster rookie years.

Actually he alley-oop a couple of times already. If you could not remember, then you probably did not see every game or you are just a Yao-hater.

Yao's stats are quite good. Look at the facts.
7th in the league in FG%
    15th in theleague in RPG
    2nd in rookie scoring

For those who say Yao is only a rookie and think he will be like Shaq one day, Shaq has never averaged less than a 20/10 season. In his rookie season he was about 24/12(don't know exactly, but somewhere around there) and everyone knew he was dominant from the start. He came into the league at a younger age than Yao also. And to actually think Yao is a better rebounder than Shaq, because he outrebounded him one time in a game in which he got murdered is idiotic. Look at Shaq's lowest rebounding year and it dwarfs Yao's. If Shaq is not a good rebounder then Yao is pathetic. Shaq is big, dominate, and has agility. Yao is big. That is the differrence.

Flyingdragon, So you are saying anyone who doesn't worship Yao should be banned, while the rest of our players and coaches are open game for ya'll? Talk about hypocracy or insecurities, whichever one it is. You can give it but you can't take it?
