Agreed, It seems like we are just speaking to a bunch of random people on the streets who probably never even played basketball in their life time.

People expect Yao to do so much, but people don't realize how limited he is.

Sorry friend...none of what you said accounts for Yao's rebounding deficiencies on both the offensive and defensive glass.
It acounts for not a lick of Yao's failure to box out on both ends of the floor...or his glaring inability to seal off his man.
I played ball myself...organized and lots of hours dow in Trinity Gardens...and much of this is on Yao.
His fundamentals of handling the ball once the pass has been made, literally HOW to hold the ball while waiting on the post for the play to develop...all of this is flawed. THE STRENGTH OF HIS HANDS is an issue that must be approached during off-season. Its inexcusable how often he touches the ball but does not retain possession in transition moments on the court.

Its a mindset...the Chinese association style of ball...very non-agressive and 'reactive', rather than proactive.

UNTIL THE ROX HAVE YAO OVER HERE WORKING OUT FOR ONE FULL OFF-SEASON, these problems will never go away. Every lick of NBA acumen he learns during a season is systematically torn from his head the minute he goes back and plays with the Chinese National team. His eating, workout regimen, and emotional/mental prowess must be maintained.

Yao looks scared out there on nights like tonight. Its like you can almost see him shrinking...the whole world against him...and he's terrified.

Yao did not play a good game, but we only lost by several points.

We shot 5-28 from three pt line. If we made just 2 or 3 more three pointers we probably win the game. Yao was not the biggest reason we lost tonight. Mostly Chuck er Shane Battier and Ron Artest.

But not all is lost. We just lost to the best team in the league. No biggie.

and it's the post players responsibility to seal off his man.. the PG can't do a damned thing if the post player is letting his man constantly cut around him and make the pass 10 times more difficult than it needs to be.. it's his responsibility to read the double team.. and react accordingly.. it's his responsibility to be decisive once the ball is in his hands..

    Yao just chokes.

He never shows up in the fourth.

    He misses shots.

8 feet tall and he can't secure a rebound WTF.

It is so frustrating to watch him bring the ball down and get it stripped.

    I can't wait until the 2010 offseason.
D Wade and Amare in a Rox uniform, then we will finally have a chance to beat the good teams

Why Ron and Battier left their bricks on the floor?

That's not the reason that they couldn't get him the ball. Even Shane couldn't get Yao the ball because he did not seal off his man. And the few times that they did put the ball into his hands, he passed it out immediately or waited too long, allowing the double team to converge and forcing him to pass it out again. I don't understand why it takes Yao such a long time to make a move.

this is the reason why McGrady is still valueable to this team. He is IMO the best passer to the post because hes too tall for someone to block his view and too good for the defender to close him out. he (and Rafer) doesnt even have to pick up his dribble to throw a pass to Yao because they both got the handle and the passing skills for it. In contrast, Battier's defender always got in Shane's face because he cant drive, Brooks is too short to do an over-head pass to Yao, and Lowry does not have a good shooting touch so his man sometimes will slack off from him to double up on Yao.
    I miss TMac :(
