    WWHD [WHAT WOULD HAKEEM DO?]

    YAO IS PASSIVE
PASSIVE [as much as i hate it] DOES NOT GET FOULS CALLED

YAO HAS TO TAKE IT TO THE DEFENSE
THAT means fighting through a double team

*THAT* is what Hakeem would do
    *THAT* is what shaq does
    *THAT* is what Tim Does
*THAT* is what the admiral did not do enough
*THAT* is what Elden Campbell cannot do
*THAT* is what Shawn Bradley Cannot do
*THAT* is what Ralph Sampson did not do ENOUGH OF

UN TIL YAO RAMS IT DOWN SOMEONES THROAT AND TELL THEM THAT IT IS COMING AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN AND IT DON'T MATTER WHAT THE F*CK THEY TRY . . . . . .He will shoulder some blame for this team not working right

SF, you may not like his aggressivenes
he may make bad decisions . .. but you do see opportunities for good decisions

I think if the league feels that when yao gets the Rock
HE IS GOING TO THE HOOP . . .it will creat more opportunities

[then all we have to do is hit open shots]

How the HELL is Yao the main problem? The BOY is a second year player from another country who just so happen to have had maybe FOUR touches last night!! You people are amazing!! Steve "TURNOVER KING" Francis has had FIVE years of CARTE BLANCHE treatment of getting over..with excuses and TURNOVERS galore..and it he is NEVER the problem with most of you, people. Its either Rudy, Cat, the role players..and now YAO??!! Steve Francis is the same dude he was when they picked his AZZ up after he refused to go to Vancouver, he is the same dude that JVG has to BEG TO PUSH THE BALL UP THE FLOOR WITH EVERY POSSESSION..he is the same dude who currently can't hit the broadside of a barn!! He's the MAX player..not Yao..he is the player who has the ball on every possession..NOT YAO! Wake up!!

If you had take overall presence, I'd take the Yao and Nash. Nash is good for the offensive presence from his playmaking skills. Yao is a good shot blocker with decent offensive skills. This is predicated on a 5 on 5 game rather than a 2 on 2 streetball game. If it was 2 on 2, I'd take Steve and Nowitzki.

Reading some of these posts, I think you guys are forgetting how good Francis used to be. Remember the first month or so of last season? He was playing MVP-like, carrying the team by himself.
There's no way in hell Steve Nash is as valuable as him. We just gotta develop a better offensive system.

and steve cant fit in a better offensive system because he is an ISO type player. He dont like to pass and that is key to a good offensive system which the rockets dont have.

This is what I hate about these message boards. When did I ever say I thought Yao-Nash would be better than Francis-Nowitski. Never that's when. I was saying that Yao-Nash is superior to Yao-Francis and I'll take that statement to the grave. Don't twist my takes to aid your arguments thank you very much.

nash is efficient becasue he is surrounded by great shooters. Nash coming here is not a good idea. Just look at the pacers game yesterday. Francis dished it out to WIDE-OPEN guys atleast 5 times and they keep on missing those wide-open practice 3s.

You do realize there are 5 players on the court right? If this was a 1 on 1 game in the park, I'd take Francis everyday of the week. Steve Nash has proven himself to be better than Francis at getting his team to play better with him as the facilitator. Nowitzki and Finley have openly lobbied for Nash to come back after the season is over.

Yao is not ready to take over a team when he is getting pushed down by pgs, playing vollyball with himself, and backing it up and not moving an inch back...

Yao has been horrible since that 22/20 detroit game. His averages are 13/7.1 in those 8 games. The Rockets record is also 3-5 in those games as well.

Also, no one wants to remember what francis did for the team on his headache year... The record withought francis was just completly emmbarassing. I think they only won three games without the guy.

This is the worst defense Yao has. He only got 4 shots?? Give me a break... Yao keeps passing out of 1-on-1 situations where he has over a half-foot advantage on the defender and is within 12 feet of the basket. Yao did not "only get 4 shots" - Yao took only 4 shots.
