The Rockets win if Yao plays well. A lot of people hate on TMac and his reliance on jumpers but thats how Yao started out the game. Jumper after jumper.
Yao didn't have his touch the whole game, not only in the clutch time. Even though he'd made some dunks to lead the team to come back in the 3rd. If only he had had his touch? Check the game vs Spurs and watch how TD was dominated by Yao.
people lose their memory so fast... amazing. YAO is not that great at clutch time, but at least he is GOOD. at money, you suppose to let your best player to control the game. KG is proven great player, beat YAO tonight.. simple and easy.... nothing more.
Yao shoots jumpers because that was what was available, and the double came on the dribble. Tmac shoots them because he is lazy.....
Yao doesn't choke. I don't think it's a mental think with him. His game simply isn't suited to being a dominant fourth quarter guy, for these reasons: - He's particularly vulnerable to bad matchups - He doesn't play as well when he's tired, so his performance will naturally drop as the game wears on. Also, opposing teams will attack him more in the fourth, making him expend more energy on that end and tiring him further. - He depends on teammates to get him the ball, and he's only effective when he gets the ball close to the basket. Further, he's slow to catch the ball in traffic, and is poor catching the ball on the move. In other words, just getting him the damn ball is a huge challenge.
When it comes down to the crunch time, the Rockets need TMac. There is a reason why the Rockets' record is so horrible without Tracy in the last couple of years. Yao's offense has been horrible lately (reflected on his poor shooting percentage). He still has not fully adjusted to his role in the new offense and he gets fewer easy baskets now that he is further away from the basket. More important, he just seems hesitant on offence. With his lack of quickness Yao can not be hesitant. Maybe we should think about using Scola more against certain matchups in the 4th. In the long run this team needs Yao, but right now this team is in real danger of missing the playoffs.
Man....Let's count how many of these hate threads put up dissing the Big Man who played his heart out in every game despite his fingers (the thumb and small finger) on his shooting hand had yet totally recovered, his body conditions severely down notches by the flu virus and rounds of diarrhea...... IMHO, this loss is on some bad coaching on Rick Adelman. Why he gave those crucial minutes to Luther Head is beyond me. If he needs a spot up 3-pointer, why not Steve Novak? If he needs a guard with better ball handling, why not Aaron Brooks?

He was getting fronted when he was on the low block, that is why he had to get the ball so high up. Our guards can not make that pass over the top so it forces Yao to come higher.
is anyone really surprised what happened when yao got matched up with KG? The real question is why is luther head in the game at the end? turnover on entry pass to yao and the pathetic effort when ray allen got the rebound sealed the game.
come on, everybody just blaming on Yao. But that is not his fault at all. Let's say when he started to get hot in 3rd quarter, refs just made serval bad calls on him, that really damages
WHY THE DID WE NOT TRADE YAO FOR KG WHEN WE HAD THE CHANCE? WHAT WAS ROCKET'S MANAGEMENT THINKING? MY GOD KG OWNS THE COURT WHEN HE PLAYS, YAO COULD ONLY WISH TO BE 1/2 AS GOOD AS KG.
Let me just say first that I'm proud of the Rockets team and how they fought tonight. RA gambled a bit with his substitutions tonight and that lost us the game. Scola and Brooks were the difference makers that we gained the lead with. You have to leave those guys on the floor and let Scola match up with KG not Yao. Yao gets killed against a big guy that can draw him out and hit the jumper or drive around him. Tonight KG was Boozer all over again. And of course the rebouding woes at crucial times this team falls apart and can not rebound the ball to save their lives.
LMAO..."In your hoenst opinion" haha your honest opinion is still unbiased b/c your making excuses for yao..your not willing to examine yao's faults...his track record shows that he just PLAIN SUCKS in 4th quarters...now if we traded him for KG when we had the chance the Rockets would be a serious threat in the west.
