Bottom line is .....ITS A LONG SEASON......give the big guy a chance.......trust me he'll come around by the second or third month of the season and you will see a different player If you see YAO still playin like this after the all star break or something like that, then worry, after 4 games is a bit premature

First half of last year: Yao often struggled against single-team defenses. Second half of last year: Yao began to dominate single-team defenses and was consequently double-teamed. First half of this year: Yao sometimes struggles against double-team defenses -- so far, but still manages to hit the open man more often than not. Looking ahead: Yao will figure out how to score against double-teams, because he's that talented. And once the triple-teams show up, like they usually did against Hakeem, his teammates going to be getting an awful lot of open looks at the basket.

Looks like somebody here confused coach's smart coaching/motivation for the longhual with player deficiency. Frankly, lot of you do and thus make a bigger fuss than it should be. Why is it JVG doesn't come out say: Moochie should cut down turnover? Moochie's not that important, and won't just improve by coach publicly critisizes him.
It is natural that Yao plays like a girl. Every summer after a NBA season where coaches here tell him to play mean, the Chinese NT coach tells him to play within a team. This past summer, the NT coach refuses to say that YM is the center of the team openly and demands YM to play as a team player. You know what, I bet whenever YM scores 25 ppg, the coach will tell him to pay more attention to his teammate. Yao is confused whether he should play selfish by shooting every ball under single-coverage or try to find an even better shooting opportunity by passing the ball.
