Yao is not injury prone IMO. You are injury prone if you play light minutes with soft competition and you still got injured. Yao's playing heavy minutes(especially for his size) at the highest level of competition facing constant double teams and fronting and wrestling inside the paint. And more than that, he never got a rested summer in last NINE years to compete in very intensive world champ and Olympics games.

There's not a single player(even a guard) in NBA has had that kind of a workload, not to mention yao's a 7"6' giant. I'd say it's only reasonable for him to have some injury issues this way. How could anybody call that injury prone?! To be frank, yao would be superman to be injury free considering his size, body type, workload...(Or would 'superman' went through all of these without injury?)

To me, it's kind of like Great Kobe and Great Phil can't even pass the first round without Gasol, and people critisize them without looking at the facts. Now people paise them as 'next Jordan' or 'greatest coach' without emphasizing Gasol's help.

If yao comes back healthy again, please for god's sake let him rest in the summer or limit his minutes early in the regular season or find a good backup center for him. Let's stop unrealistically expecting yao to keep going through all the stuff and critisize him as 'injury prone'. It's just funny!

When you have to come up with a number of excuses for a why a player keeps getting injured, he's injury-prone.

    Wow.

    A true definition of YOF?

You know, Yao is injury prone, and all the work (plus him being 7'6) is WHY HE IS INJURY PRONE.

You are so obsessed with Yao that you don't even know what injury prone is.

IBTL? Srsly guy. It doesn't matter if he's doing well for someone that is his size. The fact of the matter is that he isn't ever on the court consistently. That doesn't mean I'm anti-Yao, but I doubt even Yao could say that he's not injury prone with a straight face at this point.

Being 7'6 and Asian is not a natural combination...

he is injury prone, stop the excuses, he's been injured in 05-06, 06-07, 07-08 for LARGE portions of the season, and this past season he managed to stay somewhat healthy but he got injured in the playoffs and will miss majority if not all of next season. I don't care what anyone has to say, he's injury prone. When you suffer an injury for 5 seasons in a row, you are injury prone..

Lay of the op. Yao is not injury prone, AND I did not have sexual relations with that woman.

    Actually.......

In the top 20 tallest Male in the world (both dead and alive)

    6 of them are/were Asians.

Either way being 7'6 is not natural :)
