It was Rafer who took a bad shot, why do you talk Yao or TMac? Noone is God, but if Rafer passed the ball to Yao, Rox could win the game.

Yao is not yet an Olajuwon but in the couples years he will be better. But I would prefer T-Mac is go to guy in the fourth or when the game is on the line. He could penetrate or dish off to the open guy.

How quickly we forget how clutch Yao was against the Wizards and Clippers.

He put up 35/16 a few weeks back from injury against a tough Jazz defense and people are bashing the guy for missing a couple shots (which rimmed out) even after his teammates gave NOTHING offensively in support. If they played well at all then maybe Yao wouldn't have runned out of gas after playing almost the entire 2nd half (after doing all of the scoring in the 1st half).

just a bunch of losers who tend to favor their favorite players and forget the numerous times Yao carried the whole ****ing team for win.

SOme people's baby T-mini doesn't even bother to try to go to the line by penetration instead of shooting stupid-looking jumpshots when he shot like **** and is still considered the best closer for the team.

    what a world it is!

I think we need to bring Hakeem back.

I used him in NBA Live '05 the other day, and scored 40 points over everyone. This is scientifically proven. We need to do this.

    It's time.

What a idiot are you? Yao was the only one can score in this team now. I can't believe you still bash him after last two big games. We have a lot of problems with this team. Yao is the least we need to worry about, no matter in the 1st or 4th.

It has to do with the game strategy, go to Yao first is always our strategy.

I thought you said t-mac was the best just last week....?

Anyway i still think t-mac is our best player if both stars are at their best, with that said, Yao shooting the ball tired is still efficient then some of his struggling teammates and thats includes t-mac...sad but true. Thats why JVG is playing him a lot of minutes b/c no one else can't make a damn shot.

I compiled the numbers at popcornmachine.net for Yao. I posted his breakdown (doesn't include the 11/14 game against San Antonio) below. All stats are per 40 minutes played. Sorry for the small font, but I wanted everything to fit without you having to scroll.

    Code:
[SIZE=1][B]prd min fgm fga ftm fta or tr ast blk stl to pf pts eff +/- ts%[/B]

eff is a simple NBA effectiveness metric used at NBA.com, per 40 minutes. Based on this measure, Yao's effectiveness decreases as the game progresses -- most notably after the first quarter. His scoring efficiency (ts%) is at its highest in the middle two quarters, however. You can see that, indeed, overall he is not as effective in the fourth quarter (and overtimes, though that only constitued two games).

The most startling stat for me is that +/-. This doesn't have to strictly with Yao, of course, but you can see how much better we've been in the first and third quarters compared to the second and fourth. There is a huge dip between our starting group, which has been dominant for the most part (particular when Yao and McGrady are healthy), and our lineups when the reserves enter the game.

I recall the game vs Wizard, Yao got some extra rest due to black out, and then he had this career high 23 point at 4th qtr.

Yao is capable of finishing the game, only if he gets some help from others and gets some rest. In a game Yao played 40 mins like this one, someone else has to stand up (T-mac) in the end.

Really...86 points allowed, 83 points scored and our problem is defense, not offense? Switch the player who has almost half your points as a team with someone the other team does not guard? Your sir, are an idiot.

Offense and Defense arent the problem, Rafer is the problem.
