I think the NBA wants Yao in Los Angeles. Team Yao wants Yao in Los Angeles. I think the only thing wanting Yao in Houston is Yao, and that is wavering by the day. I've said it before that the Rockets do not have a team that is fit around Yao. Instead of killing teams with all the open 3 pointers that are produced around Yao, the team is bogged down since the shooters can't shoot. Imagine if Ray Allen and Vladimir Radmanovic was shooting these 3s instead of the trash 3 point shooters the Rockets have now. Half-court team better have good shooters, or half-court team dies.
Charvo, I know that you are a Lakers homer. However, I do agree with you that the only one who wants Yao to be at Houston is Yao. To say whatever you want, Yao's anger and dissatisfaction with JVG probably has become the last straw that pushes him out. I still think that the Rockets have the upper hand at this moment, but who knows? maybe LA will pull out a blackjack and beat CD and Les eventually.
sure fantasy boy. we will aslo have to imagine the seattle gm is a jackass. right - imagine whoever the best threepoint shooters in the league are for the particular year - imagine them around Yao? yeah, sure. if theres one thing in this post that I don't have to imagine its that your post is fantasy bandwagon bullsh!t.
Wooo , After reading the news in Chinese, I believe that Yao will be a laker. Kobe is obviously a fan of Yao.
If you ever watched the games, you'd realize we'd struggle even more. Yao is a horrible passer out of the double team. More often times than not, he turns it over. Like someone said earlier, he is no Hakeem. Pathetic. What else did you learn from looking at the box scores? Deke outplayed Yao on both ends of the floor last night, and deserved the amount of minutes he got. End of story. I wish some people on this board could get a concept of the team instead of player-only fans. It's really sad
good, b**** about his role in the run and gun offense. maybe he'll turn into the ******* evryone wants him to be. Of course, he might leave Houston over his unhappiness. ah well, thems the breaks when you ask for Frankenstein
Joking aside, it might happen in the future. You never know. People can change over time. Certainly, Yao is no exception. Besides, from what I read online and heard from other people, Yao cares about what others think of him. He likes to keep in tough with his fans, which is why He often taks time to post on his offical website. He might come to here once in a while. Yao might get a wrong impression that the majority of the Rockets fans do like him. Again, it's not true either. The point is that nothing is impossible.
I think the CD factor is way overblown because CD is about to retire. The guy signed a two year extension. The dude is gone in a couple of years. Rudy T is actually over at the Lakers coaching the team.
and I hear a lot of the Lakers fans arent even content with Rudy T If he's gone by this year, how does that play into Yao going there?
Let me add that I think Kobe's game has dropped since Shaq's departure. The guy has had to change his game dramatically since he has always played with Shaq since he came into the league. It doesn't make me think that he wants Shaq back because there were some definite ego clashes there. However, I could see Kobe wanting to play with a skilled big man again. Then you got Vlade who even though he is basically an invalid right now is probably still the best tutor for Yao in the NBA. It's certainly not Ewing. Then there's the potential tutelage from Kareem Abdul Jabbar, a former Laker. It's my opinion that Yao has regressed as a skilled big man. He's becoming more of a grunt roleplayer. Grunt roleplayers aren't go-to guys. I think the dude is gone.
I think the last straw let Yao stay at Houston will be CD. Yao still appreicated that CD did not give up him and finally brought him to Rockets. If CD is fired, Yao might start to pack becasue he think he owe nothing to Houston, considering the man, SF3, who was always very nice to him during his difficult first two years, were already expelled becasue of him. And this list could be added with Cat, Cato, Rudy T, Boki, JJ and maybe soon Taylor. I am still a Rox fan. Before this season, like many of other Chinese fans, I took this kind of rumor as crap too. But this season, I feel the first time that it will never been an impossoible mission for Yao's leaving.
Here is what Kobe said according to the article: "Yao has a soft shooting touch. He shoots like a guard." When asked whether he would like to play with Yao, Kobe pretended that he did not hear the question and played with his daughter (Venessa was also there). However, he did say: "I cannot wait to see him and play him on Friday." "I won't dunk on him." "I really respect Yao. I won't do tricks on him. I respect players like him." "You can tell him directly that I love him, I admire him. I am willing to wait him here (for the game)." The Chinese reporters concluded that Kobe did not exactly say that I want to play with Yao because he was not allowed to say so. This directly after Su told Yao that he would work on Kobe so that he will shower Yao with love. Now I question why Feigen wrote the article in the Chronicles. The time was weird. Did the Rockets insiders hear anything and ask him to write such an article?
Well, other than Stoudemire, Yao is still the best player in that draft class. It was really not that strong a draft class. We weren't supposed to get that No. 1 pick anyway.
