9-9 FG, 24 points in the first half alone against the Blazers in Game 1 of the Playoffs...the last time we won a series. Does Yao even need anybody to defend him on this board when he's playing healthy and confident?
If you expect Yao to again be a superstar/franchise player that you can build a team around, then yes he is done. You can even argue that he was never such a player. Right now Yao is who he is -- a player who's coming back from a major surgery and is probably at downside of his career. The Rockets organization must understand that. This team is not going anywhere if you still count on Yao as your center piece.
Exactly. At best nowdays he is a solid 5th option on a championship calibare team. The days of he and guys like McGrady are over. They are now role players.
It's time for Yao to leave, for Both Yao's and Rockets' good. Then Yao can get a ring, and Rockets can get a huge luxury cap off. This team is good but will never get a championship as long as there being so many Three-peaks in other teams. All the Boss of the Rocket team wants is saving cost, and earning more money, no more, no more.
what is up with all the people saying to move Yao. He's doing a great job, he's only played 3 games and it is too early to predict what will happen. Once the 24 min limit is lifted we will see how Yao is really doing. He could still be a center piece with the players we have. The sky is not falling just yet.
We all know the great importance of guard in this franchise. We are pretty sure Yao can get a position even in Heat, Celtics, or any other team that already has one more superstars. But Look at Rockets when T-Mac has gone.
A true Rockets fan sticks through it thick and thin. Not just sticking up for Yao, but everyone. You are a weak snake for deserting us.
Holy crap. He's a 30 yr old 7'6 giant who just came back from reconstructed knee surgery. For a man who hasn't played basketball for a year or walked for about a whole year, he looks alright. Give him a few months. Yes a few months of court action to get back into shape and he will be right where he needs to be. Stop thinking that he was supposed to return and play the way he once did immediately. The man has just spent a year relearning how to walk not even run. If he truly was done the Rockets would have traded him. Just look at the once untouchable Tracy Mcgrady. It is a business and there is no owner besides maybe the Clippers who wants a losing record. Give him time to get back into shape. 4 games into the season after a year of not walking is not easy. At least the man is trying and not B*tching. I am more concerned right now of the play of our guards. For a guy that was expected to be the most efficient scorer he's below his average and not improving much defense. I can't say much good things about our "up and coming" pg. This team looks lost and it is time to reel it in before it is way too late.
imagine if everyone on the Rockets roster is like you guys, thinking about "Yao is done" after 4 games. that's how the team will get ruined. you just gotta stick together when everything isn't go your way. can't start blaming on each other.
Sure. 24 mins are way too much for Yao. Bench him and give him 7mins. Then make trade with knicks and kings in Feb, bring back Landry and Randolph.
i cant believe this thread went for 11 pages, especially considering it started with a post consisting of no insight, analysis, wisdom, truth, basketball knowledge, etc. Lets make a promise to stop feeding the GARM trolls..(aka the guy that brought up Battier for Gay AGAIN)...
Yao is fine. He's actually the only one on the roster who looks AHEAD OF SCHEDULE. Yao is about where you'd expect him to be. Everyone else from Brooks to Adelman look more frazzled than we thought they'd be.
I think this - a few minutes here a few minutes there - is bad for the team and for Yao too because there won´t be any chemistry or flow of the game. Perhaps they should give him more time to recover and practice and then have a look if he can play or not at all.
