you know whos soft? You are. A rocket fan your whole life and after the team's first playoff game in 5 years on the ROAD might i add against the team thats favored to win it all you start a whole new thread to trade our two best players. We lost by 1 point even with all the turnovers we had, that shows some promise. As far as yao not dominating a game the portland OT and hawks OT game ring a bell?

If he is like this after a close game in which the team showed a lot of heart, can you imagine what he must have been like during the Choke City debacle in the Suns series ?

Geeze....some people just make you want to go postal..

instead of flaming your assinine post/thread...let me just say to my fellow posters..

For the Rockets? The Nuggets would laugh in the Face of CD if he ever asked for Anthony.

Van Gundy is an offensive idiot. He tries to damn hard to get Yao involved in the offense when it was clear that Yao could not do anything 1 on 1 against Shaq. He should have continued to let MO Taylor abuse Karla Malone. Everytime Mo had the ball agianst Malone he would score or find someone else for a shot. Shaq dominated Yao and he will do so the entire series and the only shot the Rockets have of winning is if the give Taylor the ball and use Yao as a decoy. No more Post plays for Yao please.

I like this post. Great great point about the Lakers. Sometimes it seems the Rox get more props from non fans than supposedly real fans.

Rockets shown hearts last night, and that's all I could ask for.

Remember this is the first playoff game for most of guys on the team, the inexperiences are expected.

It's only the first game, we held the Lakers within one point in their home court, and you guys start to calling your own team pansy and bonehead? What kind of fans are you?

    Just give'em some time.

What's new here? We know Yao is no Shaq, Francis is no Bryant. So just quit complaining, enjoy the game!

man i won't say yao is soft but he is just not strong enough to back shaq into the paint for the easy dunks. if you've watched this game there is a specific play he wanted to back shaq in at the freethrow line, i mean he did try hard ,but turned out that he was forced to take the fadeaway jump instead. He is trying to be tough but shaq is just way too powerful for him.
but i feel you for those picks, only few worked out but most of them were wasted. he got his fifth foul for a moving screen i believe.man I'd rather to see him stay close to the rim that way his fadeaway jumpers won't fall out of the 3 point line:rolleyes:

Everybody on Rockets made mistakes and everybody played hard. Holding Shaq to 20 points in 45 minutes in a playoff game is a heck of accomplishment even though Yao didn't do much on offensive end. When was the last time Shaq did so poorly in 2nd half? I just don't get why people are so hard on Rox players.

Well, because they claimed that they are lifetime diehard real
Rockets fans, who have seen the glorious time before. After that formality, you are home free to bash anything about the Rockets, be the players, management, fans (especially new fans). They are protected with that disclaimer: "I am a true Rockets fan, the harder I bash, the more love I show for the team, if you disagree with me, damn, you are a bandwaggon fake fan."

Yes they claim. But is everyone of them really is? It seems to me some posters claim they are diehard Rockets fans and use it as a license to hammer on the 'bandwagoners'. Like there is a poster who claimed to be a diehard longtime Rockets fan but has mentioned 'Rick Smith' when he intended to mean 'Rik Smits' in at least three of his posts. Yes Rik Smits was not a Houston Rocket. But it also makes me wonder if this guy has ever watched a single NBA basketball game 5 years ago.
