The guy has played part time, no back to backs and we're not even 10 games into the season and he's already out with an injury.

No thanks on resigning him even if he is a cash cow if the Rox want to win a championship.

All that happened was that Yao fell down.

Yao always falls down. He leads the league in falling down per minute.

Good chance that things like this will continue to happen.

There's no need to just cut him if he doesn't want to retire and still feels he can contribute. If there will not be other teams looking to spend for him (i.e. currently Erika Dampier, Steve Francis, Skip2My Lou and Allen Iverson) Resign him for less! Reconstruct his contract and make him a respectable role player off the bench. Problem solved! Win-win.
    _______________

It's VERY unfortunate for the big fella and foundation of this team to be injured and am VERY glad it's not as bad it could have been. Keep the faith and good battle, to face the interesting facts since the tmac&yao era..

this VERY unique team has ALWAYS found a way to use the negativity that accumulates around them, by the duress of injury, to surprise everyone else in the league-- including themselves.

    Use it ;)

Yea but it seems ever third time he falls down Rox seasons go to hell...lol

Seriously, I didn't think much of his fall when it happened but I believe every time he starts limping, or even falls down, most of us will freak out.

Like i said in the other injury thread....it's fair to argue Yao's too big to control his body well in such a vertical game, but this is basically something that can happen to anyone, big or small, on the court. The hit he took was what basically drove his ankle down like that. He just happened to be in a position where he couldnt brace his foot for the impact.

They need to bring Yao off the bench. The problem with the team (for the coaching staff and the players) is consistency. They can't develop any cohesiveness with Yao in and out of the line-up. They need to slowly re-intergrate Yao back into the game plan. They were a better team last year because they had no distractions. They should keep the same game plan from last year, and as Yao becomes more dependable, shift the game plan to include him. I know that most of the decisions that are being made are business decisions( trying to market Yao for revenue purposes), but winning games is a better financial decision than showcasing an injuried "superstar". You have to look to the other members of the Justice League if the villian is using krytonite on Superman.

he does need to stop jumping for no reason...in this case he was taking a charge and still jumped...stuff like that is silly and he needs always always anchor himself because he's too big to draw a charge anyway. Refs don't give that to him enough. He needs to brace himself, take the impact, and go strong after the block.

this is only a sign of things to come. if yao gets injured from minimal playing time and off of minimal contact, he's going to get injured again. it is what it is.

i think ak47 leads the league in that b/c he flops like a mofo

The probability of him getting injured is very high, unfortunately. Bring him off the bench.

I don't remember ... was he in the charge circle? If so, he needs to jump to avoid the foul.

actually they did give him the charge on that play, he was outside the circle...

I'll take back that he shouldnt take charges, but limit it to the obvious ones like this one, which are few. Mcgee was completely out of control and trying to go through him. However, Yao went looking for the contact, which i dont think was necessary, and he basically jumped to give Mcgee a chest bump. Not attempt to go for the block.
