Of all the reasons the Rockets may want to keep Yao on the shelf, I can't think how chemistry can be one of them. This isn't 7 minutes a game. Plenty of good bench players and even some starters only play half a game. If Adelman can work in a Hill or Hayes for 10-20mpg, I see no reason why he can't do the same for Yao.

The ONLY concern for the Rockets is that they feel Yao will get injured again, in which case all the time working him back will cost them games. But is that really an issue here? Does anyone believe the Rockets are a contender without Yao but with the proverbial "great chemistry"? If they truly feel they can win without Yao ala T-Mac in 2008, then chemistry may be an issue. But it seems to me that the 2008 post-McGrady Rockets were 10 times better than the current one on the court.

Is it just me or both Yao and AB are at their contract year?

I think Morey is just trying to lower their value for re-signing.

Tmac thought he was ready. Roy thinks his minutes restriction was ridiculous, and played eight days after getting arthroscopic knee surgery. Kobe thinks playing in preseason games while recovering from knee surgery gets him in shape.

Every player thinks they're ready before they are. They're anxious to play and help the team, so they confuse feeling good in a workout to feeling good in an NBA game. Some players get leeway in rehabbing on the court. Yao does not get that leeway. If he says there's some weakness in the ankle, why not believe the trainers when they say he needs to strengthen it?

oh man, this is frustrating, i can't take it any more, not to say Yao

Yao must be firing inside, wanting to kill anyone who won't let him play on the court.....

I bet when Yao comes back, he would be so angry that he'll get a triple double with 40+ points 20 rebounds and 10 blocks.

RA will not play either one till they are 100% ready. RA will not risk the team's fragile chemistry they are still trying to build. I hope the team gets better before the end of the year and gets above .500.

More likely scenario is he comes back angry and tweaks his hamstring. :(

Or they could also be showcasing guys who play center or pg to trade them instead. I think they're just being overly cautious though...

Exactly. They think they are ready, but once they hit the court and a full game speed situation they will be exposed and that will only hurt the team.

If the medical staff is keeping Yao out for the purposes of the team than out of Yao, then they are breaking the law. The medical staff may work for the Rockets, but their patient is Yao.

Being super super super cautious about a 7'6'' guy who's always injured is illegal?

Are they Rockets players anymore? No... Are they Rockets legends? Again... no. News about them do NOT belong in GARM. They belong in Dish.

Martin dislikes Reke, which is understandable. Reke is the kind of player who will be an all star but never win rings, unless he has an all-defensive team around him. He is the kind of player who cannot play together with another star effectively because of his ballhogging. Martin got traded out of town because SAC stayed with Reke. In retrospective that wasn't a great move. No one knows, maybe he'll learn how to make his teammates better. Because of his ROTY award, I think he doesn't view this as an important factor to individual success, which I think is enough for him, at least for now.

Of course you can. Just don't compare Yao to TMac. One is lazy ass ex-rocket mental case. ANd the other is a hard working loyal Rocket. Nothing compares.

It's obvious that Adelman is forcing the doctors and trainer to tell Yao that he can't practice yet, so chemistry isn't messed up. Why don't you see that?

What? I mean, I know you have a good record of detracting Yao, but this is ridiculous. Not to mention that well, Amare isn't doing it with the team that drafted him right now.

Reke's is pretty much a less athletic Franchise. I still can't get over how the Kings were more concerned about him getting 20-5-5 then well, winning when they played us.
