well how much does he lift? even ben gordon lifts over 100+ lbs.

for a guy yao's size, he must be able to lift more or else he isn't that strong b/c he's going against other 7fters.

there's a reason he gets stripped and turns the ball over BEFORE his injury.

but i do admit, his bottom half are as strong as they come.

Well no need self criticized, just prove yourself and try hard. If we still lose, sometimes it's not your fault. We just don't have enough power yet.

Yao really doesn't lack post moves, he just never uses them anymore. Its actually pretty disappointing, for a guy that has the foot work for spining either side, can shoot the fadeaway jumpber, and can hit the jump hook with both hands. He's just gone away from the moves he use to pull off.

you're telling me his legs are bigger than his arms? well no ****.

so his legs being massive means his arms aren't strong? i don't see the correlation you're getting at. if his arms were as big as his legs he'd look like a monster.

i'm not searching for links now, but i'm sure i've read that the rockets had to get heavier weights specifically for yao. he is a strong strong man.

Yao on;y took the blame for his actions, not the teams. That's being responsible, not necessarily a leader. One can lead without ever taking responsibility, and one can take responsibility without ever being a leader.

If Yao wants to be leader, he needs to come out and prove it on the court, not to through talking to the media.

I'd rather see Yao reflects why all of a sudden his plethora of offensive weapons are reduced to only a couple of predictable and slow post moves, and what happened to his shooting touches.

He never uses them anymore for a reason. If I had my guess, it would be because they are not as effective as his current game of short jumpers is. Yao is the type of person that probably is obssesive about the little things in his game. If the post moves were working, he would utilize them more.

You're right though, he doesn't lack post moves.

Its also a function of him getting closer to the basket, he seems to have lost his ability to do so. The pre-injured Yao was able to do it. I don't know if he's not physicall up to it, or that he's just timid on his moves. He's become so predictable, its sickening.

All the highlights that we use to see from him seems to have gone.

or maybe the jazz are just "physical". and to face them for a whole series takes a toll on you. yao is not really a physical player. he's a "finesse" player ala dirk. big guy who prefers the fadeaways rather than take it inside and dunk.

    both are highly successful obviously.

For comparison, Dwight Howard benches 345 vs. Yao's 310:
Even though the claim that Yao is the strongest guy on the team was disputed by Juwan Howard...
...Yao physical strength is not an issue, he's strong enough. It's his lack of quickness/explosion that he struggles with rather than his lack of strength. He's just got to make up for it with his shooting touch, aggression on offense, and mental determination guarding the pnr on defense. I hope it's enough to beat the Jazz...

Well, 310 lb is his normal weight benched. Yao Ming can bench maximum 150 KG, i.e. 330 lb. That is from an Anthony Falsone interview in the summer.

i want to translate one interesting conversation:
Ask: The ref only gave you 4 FT opportunities, what do you think of that?

Yao: You can not always blame the ref. The ref only set a standard, jazz played tough and hard, but they did not surpass the standard; We lose because we did not played as hard as they did. For example, if Okur cut me
with his knighf, you should just cut him back instead of saying: why he uses
    knighf.................

I really respect Yao. This loss is not on him. He has done his part. He should not feel bad. He has been fouled repeatedly by Okur and Boozer- yet he does not complain.

Yao plays like a champion- we are lucky to have him on our team.

    me 2...

he is a stable shooter, altough lots of TOs

but he has got his lowest FG in the last 4 games, we expect that Yao could do better

    yup, anybody tells me why???

I reviewed some videos of Yao, he used his magic moves a lot before but really dont know why he was just a jumper shooter in the last 4 games

JVG told him to do this?

It started after he came back from injury. I have been pointing this out for almost over 2 months now. Yao has actually digressed since coming back.
