Who said Yao can't jump? That's pretty good leap IMO.

    0.92257 x 12 = 11.07 inc.
    0.51312 x 12 = 6.15
    0.08661 x 12 = 1.03 inc

    So

    DH 211 centimeters = 6-11
    YAO 229 centimeters = 7-6
    Shaq 216 centimeters = 7-1

Completely agree. I do think Shaq certainly can through Yao but not often and not easily. 2000 Shaq would have been more effective but I still believe he would have his problems consistently overpowering Yao.

I'm with you regarding Yao's power. It is rarely talked about by the media or non-Rockets fans but all you have to do is watch guys like Amare and Dwight Howard go up strong and bounce off of Yao like they were trying to jump through a brick wall.

    i totally agree.
In the first match up with DHoward, Yao would get moved off his defensive position everytime Howard would turn into Yao and drop a shoulder into his chest, but yesterday Yao did a very good job of holding his ground, and there are only 2 people in the nba who can hold their ground when Howard throws a shoulder into them, Yao and Shaq.

22pts 15rebs 2.7blks 60%fg from a guy just turning 22. For all u newbies, go pull up some 22yr old dream tapes, and its like a photo copy. As far as quickness, stregnth, agility, and atheletic ability, this guy is the closedt to hakeem that I've seen. Plus he's getting better in every area. I doubt he'll develop the dreamshake, but this guy is on his way. Not to start any bs, but would you trade ming for howard right now?

If you have read carefully, none of those who think Yao dominated Howard last night had said whether they would or wouldn't trade Yao for Howard. Those are two different topics and they are not mutually exclusive. My speculation is that some of them would based on Howard's potential, just like some Lakers fans wanted to trade Shaq for Yao in 2002 just because of the word starts with the letter 'P'. But what does it have anything to do with who dominated who last night?

Dwight is the best center in the league right now. But when he faces really big centers like yao, he doesn't play as well.

    Wrong
This is how is he listed in the NBA
    Height: 6-11 / 2,11

    211 centimeters = 6.92257218 feet not 6-11

    Chuck is listed as
    Height: 6-6 / 1,98

    198 centimeters = 6.49606299 feet

    Yao is listed as

    Height: 7-6 / 2,29

    229 centimeters = 7.51312336 feet

Thats why the rest of the world use metric, is more exact, you cant fool it.

    1 centimeters = 0.01 meters
    1 meter = 3.2808399 feet
    1 meter = 39.3700787 inches
    1 inches = 0.0833333333 feet

You see why inches are so bad the conversion between iches to feet are not exact 12 = 1 is good but 1 inches = a horrible hard to calculate inaccurate number

Keep believing in how they listed player in the NBA

    ROFLMAO !!! :D

I REALLY think you have to go back to some basic airthmatics in primary school, and re-learn something about decimals and the English measuring systems.

Let's try the conversion the other way....

    1 foot = 12 inches
    1 inch = 2.54 cm
    211 cm divided by 2.54 cm = 83.07 inches
    83.07 inches divided by 12 = 6 ft 11 inches

Now is another thing if is really that tall, like they list AB 6feet, or Chuck 6-6

You're thinking base 10, instead of base 12. 0.9225 feet is approximately 11 inches.

yes you are right, the problem we never use inches and feet in my country

But If you believe that AB is 6 foot tall then you can believe he is 6-11 like chuck is really 6-6

Frankly the metric system of measurement makes much more sense. 12 inches to the foot = stupid.
