This type of infection is very similar to what happens to diabetic patients who got nerve damage. These patients eventually damage the foot by stepping on something and not feel it at all. An example is a thumb tack or a piece of nail. Since they don't feel it, they walk around with it for an extended period of time. That usually results in an infection.

Generally, Staph infections will take a long time to reach the bones. Topical infections such as staph is very easy to treat. Penicillin type drugs such as Keflex (cephalexin) would had eliminated the problem easily from a week of treatment.

I can't understand how this infection got so out of hand. Soaking the foot in betadine will only treat superficial infections on the surface and not in the muscles and bones. The Rockets' doctors should be shot.

Patients with diabetes who also get infection to the bone will not feel the pain because of neuropathy. If left untreated, gangrene results. That part of the body turns black and amputation will be the only cure. I'm glad they are finally getting serious about treating Yao's toe. Its been infected since the summer, probably a good 3 months. I hope there's no long term damage.

This is off topic, but I read in another thread that there is a trade speculation regarding Swift for Jefferson and McInnis from NJ.

I went to the *************** to confirm this and read that article. Can anyone validate that this is something that very well could happen?

If we could get Jefferson, that would be fantastic.

sounds too good to be true.....

HOOPSWORLD was the website by the way. For some reason this forum doesn't allow me to post a link.

If you read the article on HOOPSWORLD, it says Jeff McInnis and Richard Jefferson. Where are you getting Marc Jackson from?

RJ and McInnis combine for something like double or triple Stro's salary, so right away Hoopsworld (not exactly the most reliable source) is already off. The Swift for Jackson rumors have been talked aobut frequently in the New York papers and other media outlets

I understand your point about the salary mismatch. But why would HOOPSWORLD specifically mention RJ? I understand that this is probably too good to be true, but as "unreliable" as HOOPSWORLD may be, there has got to be some kind of substance in their articles, right?

No, actually there doesn't. Bill "the idiot guy" Ingram continually makes things up to increase the revenue of his "for profit" site. They are a joke and have to stir up the pot because they never get any true insider information.

Ingram basically guaranteed that Houston would sign Spreewell. So you tell me.

Well wish it were true. We could certainly use Jefferson.

i just want this team to grab the #7 seed, i see it being very difficult to do better than that, but please dont draw the Spurs in the first round. i'll have all the confidence in the world playing any other team in the 1st round besides the spurs. as long as we are healthy.

I've got a solution, saw this on nfl blitz the league a couple of times.

Sometimes my players would go out with injuries like fractured spines or fractured wrists, etc.

The trainer on the sidelines would either offer the treat option or inject with steroids and be out a couple of plays.

So I'm thinking.... if we inject Yao with steroids, he'll be back in just a couple of games.
